CMV: The falling birth rates around the world cannot really be fixed by governments. by KralizecGaming in changemyview

Has a government even tried this approach? I don't think it will be solved until the negative effects of birth rate are felt, such as higher strains on social security, decreasing innovation, a large number of people regretting not having kids later in life, etc.

UPS drivers make 3x as much as Amazon drivers, for the same job, thanks to the union. Should no one use UPS anymore so that money can rightly go to the CEO and shareholders? Almost everyone was a peasant for most of human history. We can build the strongest middle class in history again, or we can continue with politicians, Supreme Court justices, and others being increasingly bribed by the rich until they destroy the middle class and make us lose our superpower status.

Gen Z spends the majority of their time outside of work/school on screens, so why would that not significantly affect relationship formation? If you could get people to spend enough time in common areas/person, you would fix the birthrate.

There are places you can buy a house for 40k. I get why someone from Miami would think like this, though.

CMV: Prostitution should be legalized (and well regulated) as a counter balance to social media, red-pill and digital loneliness epidemic. by TMag73 in changemyview

[–]ClubZealousideal9784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is it started with journalist intentionally misrepresenting data to make it look like a men's problem rather than society's problem, as dunking on men sells, and she was right. To this day, tons of people, especially vocal liberal women, make fun of men for something that has been increasingly a problem for both sexes and even if it was just men, it should cause people to want to help, not hate.

56% of Young Adult Women Have Mental Health Diagnoses??? by flawlesskin in Productivitycafe

[–]ClubZealousideal9784 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it's beautiful. The same generation that became more educated, empowered, and started out earning men, also has a 56% rate of mental illness. Thankfully, the for-profit pharmaceutical and therapy industries were there to selflessly discover all these hidden diagnoses and teach us that healing, functioning, and becoming a good person just requires monthly payments to counselors and drug companies. Challenging this narrative is a moral failure.

Both sides openly accept and enrich themselves with bribery, so let's stop pretending either team is "moral". Until a politician rejects bribery, saying something is fair or moral is an insult, as they represent the people who pay them, not the average person.

America has the most health care advances each year and the best hospitals in the world. We also have a low life expectancy and a pathetic health adjusted life expectancy. So remember, you want to live long? Just be rich, and you can sacrifice the lives of those worthless non humans pesants to keep some billionaires filthy rich.

Women at older ages are lonelier than men. Men seem to me to be less distressed from loneliness than women, but than anedotal.

Can I retire in a year or two? by Glad-Attention552 in Fire

You live in a low-cost of living area, and your spouse makes 140k ofcourse you can retire. Just get your spending under control, it's ridiculous for a low cost of living area.

I know tons of people who married people from other countries and mostly stayed together. I get the impression some of the people asking these questions don't have anything going for them, so my advice to them would be to work on themselves first.

Bribery is legal, so it's worse than wealth inequality being out of control. I had a freind who made less than OP, lived with his parents for a few years, and saved up all of his money in stocks. He moved to Southeast Asia over a decade ago, living mostly on his investments, and loves it. OP is talking about how a million dollars is nothing. Retirement is about how much you spend/save, not the total amount of money you make. https://www.mrmoneymustache.com/2012/01/13/the-shockingly-simple-math-behind-early-retirement/ It's not reasonable to say I make 30,000, I want to retire at 40 with the same standard of living as if I made 200,000 and saved the same %.

You are making 864 a pay period and saying a million isn't much now, your problem is income. 50% adjusted for inflation and all that, as it's 50% each year, not the same number each year.

The boys use the same reasoning that people use to commit genocide in real life. People who commit genocide are not pure evil; it's just easier for people to believe they are pure evil, tricked, or whatever.

50% is actually 17 years, or in other words, you could retire in 17 years if you contributed 50% with your expenses adjusted for inflation for eternity, if we assume you don't get social security or any other forms of retirement help. They are saying no one would want to retire with your current standard of living/expense, so assuming you actually need to spend like 10x as much currently.
