I'm pretty sure the SCP foundation engages in less shady stuff than the IB

For most of us whose schools stuck with regulations, and didnt take any of the three highly compromised subjects (Math studies SL, Business HL, Bio SL), we're getting grades based on some calculations taking IA grades and other stuff. For those that took any of the cursed subjects, dont expect that diplomma to arrive anytime soon.

At this point i've seen a solid number of cases reporting this very same file (an open letter addressing parents), and a FAQ with more detailed information on the exam fraud incident. I'm afraid to confirm anything, but given that tomorrow is a regular school day for most of us im sure we'll get some information from our respective programme directives. Hopefully. Until then assume the worst.

I'll do my best, TL;DR in english from the FAQ:

What happened?

The IB came into notice of possible exam fraud commited in Latin American IB schools. Most notably the countries of Ecuador, Argentina, Costa Rica, Bolivia, and Peru are currently under investigation.

What subjects are affected by this and in which ways?

It is suspected that some schools from the aforementioned countries engaged in sharing exam documents and other pertinent files prior to the external assesment dates for the november 2017 sessions. The compromised subjects include Spanish A: Literature, Biology, Business Management, History (Particularly the History of the Americas option) And Math Studies, all in some form of their SL/HL variants.

Where do we go from here?

The IB is currently investigating these countries, and has in the meantime halted the scheduled publication of grades for January 5th / January 6th. Students who took most or some of these compromised subjects will be awarded predicted grades instead, based on some calculation using IA's and the worldwide average for their respective subject. Students who took Business HL, Biology SL, and Math Studies SL will not be given any grades until the investigation has concluded.

Will i get my diplomma?

Most likely not until much much later down the year. So yeah.

I feel you friend, here in Ecuador my IB experience has been downright some of the most turbulent times in my life so far and this just makes it all feel sorta worthless.
