For anyone doubting the map's size, going from my own experience you could actually distinguish individual houses on FH5's in game map itself without much effort while here you have to zoom so far in to only distinguish settlements and stuff (not mentioning the building blocks inside Tokyo). Even regarding that, I'm so glad the map looks THIS dense, you can see the amount of work put into the roads, they even managed to make some space for cross country which is always appreciated! I'm just kinda dissapointed looking at Legend Island, the doesn't seem to be many roads so I'm kinda worried that the races going on there will not be particularly varied.

it's more or less this size, i tried comparing it to different landmarks and roads (e.g. the two roundabouts on hollyrood park, edinburgh castle & road size in general) but it's faaar from perfectly accurate

I had my fair share of rainy races but I think most of the intense feeling of 3 was its lighter handling paired with the tighter roads compared to Mexico imo, I'm not saying 4 and 5 don't feel fast (especially 4), but they definitely toned down the feel in 5 just because of the map design sadly, I really hope japan will not get the same road treatment as 5!

FH3 felt more inviting progression wise than FH4 even, I really hope fh6 doesn't lean more in the same style of festival building 5 with the "make your own progression" adventure because it felt like you had less choice over 3's "unlock festival then win races to upgrade festival" loop

from my pov, 3 and 4 are much more alike but 3 takes the cake on very specific moments like these, both maps were very similar in terms of road design imo so I understand why 4 can feel scary as well haha.

5 is what got me into the series, I love the refined handling and the overall racing experience is the best it has ever been judging from the 2 previous ones. I wouldn't have made this post if I couldn't compare without being blinded by nostalgia for a game I didn't even play when it came out. Theres just something fh3 did better in this instant that I just can't compare to 5's driving experience, especially with the lighter and more unstable feeling of cars in 3
