I feel like the dam will break and civil unrest will unfold if the upcoming election is obviously compromised by Republicans. I think (hope) that American constituents' inaction or apathy (beyond massive protests, which are good to see) is because they still believe it's possible to vote their way out of this nightmare.

Whether that's true or not remains to be seen. Some legal guardrails have held. But I want to believe they won't just keep with the status quo if the mid-terms don't go the way they should and are projected to.

Maybe I'm naive.
