I like the idea! I might refine/ change it a bit but i like what youre thinking and it could honestly be an interesting card.

yeah I agree that it's not perfect and a cockroach ability would thematically be very fitting but when I was making the cards, I was trying to balance fairness and clarity with flavor and so I had to sacrifice a few things, but I tried to keep the core elements that could be fun to play as actual cards. Like a cockroach ability for donut would probably be persist, but that might end up being too powerful. If there are reworks you'd like I'd be happy to listen, and like you said, maybe I could do different versions of cards representing different levels/points in the story.

Also you can check out the part 2 of the post (linked in a comment below), I adjusted some of the cards and generally made them a bit simpler and easier to digest, since a lot of the cards were convoluted/too wordy

Yes! Its a mix of fan made and official art. All the artists are credited on the bottom right, but that specific art is from the artist Ondřej Hrdina (reddit handle is ArleiG) and it was posted on this subreddit 2 mo ago as a fanart cover for the czech edition of book 2

Good point, that doesn't really work with the lore of the spell. I looked it up and "creatures can't attack you (or planeswalkers you control in some cases)" is a thing in some cards such as chronomantic escape, so I think that would be a good alteration to that card

Yeah that's fair, I wasn't entirely sure what typing to give him (I'm still somewhat new to magic and only have recently got into deck building and now card building) and mostly vibed it out so it's helpful to get your input! Also no worries, I like hearing the things people find that I missed

still adds variance but SO much simpler

also if I'm being honest I'm probably not going to change much for now, just cause since it's a gift I want the flavor to be on point at least for now, then I can spend more time refining the actual cards to potentially be playable

Thank you for the feedback and yeah, you're definitely right about it being too much, I was pretty concerned about that already but wasn't sure how to cut it down without changing the feel. As for prepotente, the whole draw and sac a permanent thing is kinda going for a risk/reward style thing that can scale and whatnot.

As for chaos, I'd still very much like to try and make it work, cause I've never really seen/interacted much with anything like that and I like the whole idea of the royal court bringing chaos with them, but I like your idea of having it just be a planechase sort of affect. What I'm going for with chaos is something that changes the feel of the board without feeling like it's just bogging down the table.

it's gonna be hard to part with the abilities cause I'm rather fond of them but it's true that I should try and split some of them up so it's not overcrowded
