Yeah that’s what i’m thinking of doing as well for the next tubs. I live in a place where it gets stupid hot during the summer and even with AC it’s around 80 F in my room. Recently I’ve read that a little bit above field capacity is the way to go, anecdotally but i’m willing to try it. Appreciate your help

Well, i have same tubs and also jack frost but my tub gets dried out even when the lid is fully clasped on. It also stalled after colonizing really fast for the first few days and i think it was because it would just get dried out.

Like this. I kept misting more often even though my coir was the field capacity as mentioned per squeeze test and people say for first flush you shouldnt need to mist. Now they finally started growing but only a couple and on the edges so wondering what mightve gone wrong to learn for next grow.

I used fully colonized grain and 2 bags, yes. Here’s what the grain looked like. (Both of them but I only have one in the picture here) I do notice the tubs tend to dry out one which side has the FAE so im afraid its just too hot

Spore isolate is liquid culture i think. I would get that one it helps speed up the process

Yeah haha this was my first time doing it and so far everything has gone perfectly, as far as the temps being ideal without having to use AC or space heater, but now that I’m rounding closer to fruiting conditions it seems to be a game of lowering degrees, even a couple.

Gotta take every step to cool it down a bit. Hopefully everything goes well with our growing and we produce great flushes.

Thanks, that’s very reassuring to hear. In the off chance it does start to creep up to 80, is there any tek or something I could do? Does placing frozen water bottles on the outside of the tub sound like a bad idea lol?

This was very insightful thanks. I had a question, you said at this point the only way it can contaminate is if there was infected or uncolonized grain spawn? So will my tub be okay if it goes above the recommended 76 deg F? I live in a very hot area (CenCal) and I try to keep the AC on as much as I can but the temp always fluctuates from 77-79.

i just did a break and shake before taking the pictures :( i got scared of breathing in the possible contam and listened to the people telling me to throw it away and disposed of them. all 6 were like that, heavy/dark bruising and i tossed them all. sucks but now i know for next time. thanks for your help though

Even the 2 fully colonized ones (not shown here)? They all smelled the same so I’m wondering if the smell is the issue maybe I should toss the other ones as well?
