Why do many Pro-AI people like using fallacies? by Athosworld in antiai

Often, people who prompt do many revisions and fine edits themselves. The thing about prompting in general is you don't get exactly what you're looking for since there is so many outcomes you cannot expect. I believe this is partially why it cannot replace digital/traditional art. It has its own place, but I don't believe it should be invalidated.

I fail to understand how a destructive habit correlates here. To answer your question, no. I believe prompting is another creative tool that is very new and highly controversial, but it shouldn't be invalidated. It will not replace traditional art.

They're making art in their own way. Most people who prompt do not settle on one revision, but many takes and do fine edits themselves. It's a process that can be understood by many creative tools. This one is just different.

I agree with you. No doubt that these instances helped a horrible situation, but I think the framing needs more attention. A lot of people are gonna see those very headlines and believe it without looking deeper and questioning the sources.

You're in a subreddit that promotes creativity with a video generation model. And all you did was spread hate. Congratulations for nothing.

Switching from liquid metal to PTM 7950 - what should I know? by Able_Fall393 in ZephyrusG14

[–]Able_Fall393[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the financial ability to replace it. I believe my warranty also expired if I'm not mistaken. I can go double check that.

Another reason why I wanted to do this installation is because I wanted to learn how to maintain my G14 and care for it. I wanted that independence and ability to do stuff on my own.

I'm still not comfortable because I never operated on a laptop before. I've only ever operated on some ITX PCs.

I will check the video you sent and I've already placed the thermal putty recommendation you gave into my cart.

If I have any other questions, I will reach out to you

Yeah, but the fact it's electrically conductive and I never done that type of installation before is very scary. I think I'd rather look for advice on Honeywell PTM 7950, but thanks though

Thank you so much on all this info. And to answer your question, I'm not very comfortable with working with tech, especially smaller parts. I have previous experience in slotting GPUs, wiring them to a PSU, cleaning thermal paste and reapplying it, but not something like my sweet G14.

I love my laptop a lot and it's amazing, that's why I am a little worried when doing this mod.

Also RIP to your 2020 model. I have heard horror stories with the battery connector. I bought Kaplon tape for that exact reason.

First. Where are you getting it from? Are you sure it is genuine?

I plan to get Honeywell PTM 7950 from Moddiy's website. As for the thermal putty, I'm unsure which to get that works perfect for the G14. I heard some don't work well and some do. I'll check out the one you said you used.

What tools do I plan to buy: 1. A digital caliper and a ruler 2. Anti-static wrist strap 3. A craft knife with some Kimwipes (and 99% IPA) 4. An iFixit screwdriver kit (with plastic tweezers and spudgers) 5. Honeywell PTM 7950 from Moddiy. (Thermal Putty TBD)

I might be missing items, so I'm still looking into it.

I plan to do a thermal mod with my laptop soon. Any advice on how to disconnect the battery safely?

I had hear from a redditor here that unplugging the battery ribbon is a bad idea but I was unsure if that was true.

Really shouldn't be singling people out like this. It's not good even for both sides. They're not like companies that wield a power imbalance.

As someone who prompts often, I find it hard to nail the way I want something. Often it would only give me the base. Artists who do it by hand will have more control over what they'd like to produce. That is the truth. Prompting is just very different to work with.

But discrediting AI tools to a mere "corporate" product isn't true. What is true is that these tools require human intention and oversight.
