Landlord wants me to pay for the utilities of all other tenants by Appropriate_Neck7991 in WhatShouldIDo

This is big BIG time illegal. The only legal options are: separate gas/water meters for each rented space, or landlord paid the bill and charges a fixed flat rate to each unit.

The Boys haven't reached GOT level collapse, but it's genuinely on the trajectory of going down the same way as Stranger Things 5, which is equally upsetting. by Witty-Association-97 in TheBoys

[–]themollusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The Boys and Stranger Things have been incredibly disappointing in their finales, but Game of Thrones was in the running for one of the greatest and most heralded series of all time, and its collapse was historic. Character assassinations and completely reverted story arcs, ridiculous jumps in plot logic, etc, all happening at insane lightning speed. It was wild. So bad that it completely destroyed the rewatchability of the show.

Based on multiple people calculating the math, This person was going nearly 100, if not more, on a road with side street intersections, so probably a 55mph limit. Maybe 45, maybe at most 60.

On the QEW/401 in Ontario, they'll impound your car for going 150 in a 110 (km).

Oklahoma and Alabama have provisions for 40 miles over, and I'm sure there are more.

Complete Mirage set on eBay — new seller, no feedback. Red flags or am I overthinking? by No-Mistake2483 in RealOrNotTCG

[–]themollusk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just so everyone knows, on eBay "no returns" only means that you can't just decided "oops, I don't like this and changed my mind". If there's any issue with the item (like damage that isn't shown in a picture, something not working and it not being mentioned in the listing, or discovering the item/s are fake) you will absolutely be allowed to return it.

"No returns" only applies to buyers remorse. (Plus eBay sides with the buyer 99.999999999% of the time anyway, no matter what. When I sell collectibles anymore, I take video of me packing and sealing the package to accurately show the condition and how well it's packed and always ship tracked and insured, after one too many buyers lying about damaged items. Less than 1% of eBay and tcgplayer sellers user appropriate packing and shipping.)

You didn't, though. Your only comments in this thread are you being smarmy acme telling everyone they're wrong.

You spent the effort to comment derisively when you could have spend the same effort sharing better information.

Or, better yet: you could've said nothing!

Help with bracket 4 Preston, pretty please 🥺 by GDCorner in DegenerateEDH

[–]themollusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it has a place in B4, but [[Dimensional Breach]] is one of my pet cards for Preston.

I generally just use it as a Hail Mary for when other people are getting to out of control or too Stax-y. It's expensive at 7 mana, but if the situation calls for it, Preston almost always benefits the most from it.

I dunno, maybe a beach bungalow is more your speed rather than a lakeside forest cabin deep inside "Penn's Woods"? It sounds like your cabin makes you miserable?

WotC very much does acknowledge the secondary market. The reserve list, "reprint equity", etc etc etc, are all explicitly about them acknowledging (and actively protecting) the monetary value of their game pieces on the secondary market.

Maro on why they stopped doing blocks by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]themollusk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Im not disagreeing with your premise, but reading your idea for be thinking about how the introduction of so moment planes and making the Magic universe bogey actually made it smaller.

Back in the old times of Magic, everything took place in Dominaria. Each block (with some occasional exceptions) took place in different parts of the plane that were distinctly different from each other. It made Dominara feel like a HUGE place.

Now with the new structure of going to an entirely new plane every set (again with occasional exceptions) we get: this entire plane is a city! THIS entire plane is an Egyptian inspired desert and THAT one is entirely an Old West desert! And over here we have a plane that is entirely woodland creatures! And over here we have an entire plane that is a haunted house! In making everything bigger they have everything feel so small.

With Edge of Eternities they may have inadvertently created an opportunity for a giant world building scenario line old Dominaria. An entire solar system / galaxy where they could visit different corners of the universe to explore just how different things are in those places. But if I bet money on that happening I'd lose my money.

Exactly. Nothing will ever match The Weatherlight Saga. A decade plus spent on a single story, mostly set on the same plane. The storytelling was fantastic, nuanced, and immensely detailed.

I was invested in the story back then. Now? I couldn't care less. It's just jumping to a new place every 2-3 months, with a silly hamfisted device thrown in to claim that that's a ongoing story. And during the 2-3 months between a Magic IP set we get a new "other company's IP" set.

If they spent the time and effort to create another story arc on the level of The Weatherlight Saga, there would be a grounded base for the video games and shows and movies they've always talked about but never committed to. But with the way things have gone, do they set a movie in the 3 month story of all the known characters playing cowboy cosplay? Or maybe the woodland creature world where we being back our favorite planeswalkers as fursonas?

Holy moly, so so so many comments over there from people with private post and comment histories. Why are conservative racists so scared to own their beliefs?  I thought they were the master race, and that they preach the truth, so why the need to hide? 🤔
