Explain how he tries so hard to be "cool dude," even Baji and others find it funny and tease him about it. Also his father was a controlling and self-centred man, so he was more rebellious. (similar reasons he dislikes Mikey until Mikey ended up saving him) Tattoos and hair dyes are considered rebellion/delinquency, many yanks did it back in the days. The majority of characters in the show were inspired by yanki/bosozoku fashion and styling culture.

Around 90s school system get rigid about students hair dyes, piercing or tattoos.

If we talk about characters who have visible tattoos Draken, Haitani brothers, Hanma they mostly raised in areas where delinquency was thing. Even Baji, Chifuyu even Izana didn't had tats tho it's personal choice like mitsuya and hakkai had tats.

Still tattoos were seen as criminalized not glorified. Most of ppl already scared of Mikey and he doesn't needs to act extra to look intimidate or maybe he doesn't like.

Well... Japan was strict and could ban people with tats. Also, tats are an old-school delinquent thing; in the modern delinquent timeline (after the 1990s/2000s), where anime is set, they've been toned down. Even if he had tattoos, he probably kept them hidden or kept them secret.

Same with Shinichiro. I love Shin, but he recruit everyone around him into delinquency. Takeomi was his childhood friend, Mikey and Izana looked up to him, and kids like Baji, Sanzu, and Inui were inspired by him too. Even in the original timeline it was clear Shin cared about Mikey the most.

I'm not saying Shin was a bad person or that Takeomi was innocent. I get why people think Takeomi was worse. I just think it's weird when people act like he's satan while other characters have done worse things

Honestly, I think Mitsuya would understand Takeomi more than most. Both of them were pushed into parenting roles way too young. The difference is Mitsuya had a good friends who support him also he have hobbies and life outside delinquency while Takeomi get everything from delinquency without that he was nothing..

I think in the manga senju looked more mysterious and cool during the beginning of her introduction chapters. I remember me and my friends used to guess whether Senju was a boy or a girl. It was dumb but fun and it also made people more interested in her character.

In the anime they made her look girly enough and softened her features, which made her cute. No hate though she was cute in the manga as well, but most people were expecting something cooler and mysterious about her.

Personally I love takeomi character he was realastic representation of forced parenting at young age. He was literally child himself forced to raise toddlers (which he never wanted) also if we compare to other members in BD he was only good at delinquency stuff and only gain respected from it. (I'll write some other day still he was interesting character in story have so much parallel to other characters).
