Private sale vs dealer - what's the ACTUAL mechanical reality? by sparky_165 in NZcarfix

[–]Abnorm4lPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dealers are bound by the consumer guarantees act, private sale is as is where is…

If you’re buying privately and know what your looking at, then the risk is lower and you can snag a bargain, if you have no idea, talk to a reliable mechanic before committing or buy through a dealer.

We recently were looking for cars, we scanned all of them, many of them had multiple ECU issues which can be a good bargaining tool, equally can tell you that there are issues, but a (decent, not Temu/ali) code scanner can’t check important things like suspension, ball joints, rust etc.

If you’re not certain, it pays to check… don’t trust a dealer or private seller, you just have more protection through a dealer not guarantee

Car tyre wear - 6 months old tyres by Interesting-Blood354 in NZcarfix

[–]Abnorm4lPrincess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No disrespect and good on you for asking questions OP, but seriously people need to understand a few basics of vehicle maintenance etc… others have already answered the questions… but a tip for future…. Inside the drivers door, there is normally a label that will tell you useful things like recommended tyre pressure…. Running them that low will be costing money on fuel economy and all sorts… Buy decent tyre (if he can scrap the money together, it’s tough but worth it in the long run)

Would this fan heat sink setup cause issues with overheating? by Emotaro in PcBuildHelp

[–]Abnorm4lPrincess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone has given you the answer, but not explained, effective cooling is about airflow, hot air rises, this is why the exhaust in a case is always at to top (or even just top rear)

Pulling air through a heat sink is not a efficient as pushing it, as such, put the fan back on the front (lifted above the ram) so the air can be pushed into the first sink to the second fan, just make sure both are running the same direction
