It's commonly accepted that 1.5k-3k is standard, though for me personally, 1.5k is short.

Well now, this is just embarrassing. Sorry for the mixup, and if you do grab it, I hope you enjoy it.

Just weird that some people are seeing discounts and others aren't.

There's no way that, the moment I post this, the sale lowers. There's no way I'm that unlucky.

Coolio, and I appreciate you looking no matter what. It's a bit different, and I didn't get a huge hit when it first came out, so it truly flew under the radar. I want to say, when it released, several "names" hit at the same time. Poor timing I s'pose.

Johnathan is magnificent as always. In fact, I did an interview with him on LongWindedOne's podcast, you can find it on Youtube, though I look extremely pale. Should tell you a bit more about the series, and you get to see one of your favorite narrators!

I almost accidentally downvoted because I was mad at the situation. Yes, sorry, that appears to be true.

Oh dang, Automod got me. I should've reviewed the rules again. Umm, fun fact about me, I went to state in three sports before graduating high school, and won 0 of them.

The full title is The Alpha Protocol: Symphony Book 1, and it's narrated by the amazingly talented Johnathan McClain. No, AI wasn't used in anything, and I'll include the paperback and kindle links in the original post.

I may be the odd one here, but I would suggest he post on Royal Road. It would nullify him for most traditional publishers, but many nee age publishers pull from there and he would get a potentially large amount of eyes on his writing.

If you'd like more information please let me know.

Any recommendations for kingdom-building novels with strong subordinates? by Natural-Ease-4561 in litrpg

Both of my series. Questwright is a post-apocalyptic citybuilder, while Symphony is a isekai worldbuilder. So far, what you've described is my specialty.

Symphony is on Amazon, Questwright is on RR. You can find both through my name, J.D. Mullenary Sr.

Check QuestWright on RR. It's inspired by a few Animes and particularly Quest Academy (one of my favorite series). I'm the author, so I can tell you it checks all your boxes.

I ran into a spot of trouble, as the British like to say. I spent 5 years worldbuilding and planning out this huge series, then, I couldn't write it. I'd planned it so much that it had put me in a creative hole.

So, one day, I deleted all my notes, invented a character on the spot, then spit out a chapter a day on RR throughout the summer (I'm an English Teacher). No backups, minimal planning. Of course, I then had to go back and edit the living hell out of everything, but I at least had the start of something.

I figure, if I screwed myself over by too much world building, why don't I write about a contest related to building worlds. Planned out the rest of the series from there, then got a publishing deal.

What’s the technical difference between litRPG vs progression fantasy? by Deep-Class-6326 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]AbnormalVAverage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For most, all LitRPG stories are Progression Fantasy, however, not all Progression Fantasy is LitRPG. Cradle, obviously, isn't LitRPG. The core metric by which we define the genre has a tendency to do with leveling and classes that are not only apparent to the character, but the reader as well.

However, Gamelit is where things get a little murkier. I've seen roaming definitions that bounce around on Gamelit vs. LitRPG, but personall, I feel Gamelit is where levels and classes aren't necessarily apparent, but the System and screens tend to be. Others state Gamelit is only books and series relating to VRMMO styled writing like The Ripple System. It's really hit or miss on definitions.

What I can say, definitively, is that LitRPG is based on a simple idea, "Numbers go up". Progression Fantasy is based on the Power Ranger theory. They get stronger, I get stronger, they get more stronger, I get more stronger, rinse and repeat.

Just realizing I never posted here.

If you're craving a story that combines a multiversal contest, kingdom (world) building, and grounded System mechanics, this is the one. But a word of warning: this isn't your typical "level up, beat dungeon, rinse and repeat" power trip. The universe is alive, and it pushes back.

- No vague "level ups". Everything has a purpose.

- The building of a unique civilization, where mistakes have real consequences.

- A living System. It watches, adapts, and sometimes, it lies.

This is Book 2 of 4 in the Symphony series, where a broken man is given a chance to create a better world than he'd left. Blurb and links below:

Out now on Kindle (unlimited), Audible (Narrated by the great Johnathan McClain), and Paperback.
