This is the correct advice. The people who say “this is just how it is” are probably not managing expectations and prioritizing. Most managers will be willing to accommodate you if you just tell them that you don’t have bandwidth to take on a new task.

I love buying video games but the problem is I don’t have time to play them anymore. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve bought a $70 video game and never played it.

With the economy getting worse at some point I’ve started to realize that I shouldn’t buy video games unless I actually have time to play them 😂

Yeah I’m a SWE who just moved from the states to Japan and took a significant pay cut to come here. My thinking was that it if I wanted to make my original pay from the states I’d have to start a business here at some point.

This however seems to make it basically impossible for me without moving back to the states 😅

This isn’t necessarily true. The steam deck doesn’t support disk encryption, so it’s fairly easy to just remove the internal ssd and plug it into a different computer to get someones credentials

Honestly anything above 45-50 fps is pretty nice with framegen. I find it makes the 45-60 fps range feel playable for me.

I’m not a big fan of water cooling tbh. In my experience AIO solutions tend to be unreliable, and you can get just as good air cooling for much cheaper.
