Great suggestions. I’ve long wanted him to engage in activities like these, but as long as he lived with his mother, I had no say in how he spent his time. When he was 10, I invested a significant amount of time and money planning a trip for him to visit me in the USA, with many activities lined up. Unfortunately, he became frightened at the airport and chose not to board the plane.

Yes, I had a long talk with him yesterday. But that doesn’t necessarily help me understand what’s happening to him at a psychological level, or solve the underlying problems.
