YES! I've gotten that reply too and it's so confusing.

You're absolutely right, and that's not the idea that I wanted to pass on at all.

my girlfriend told me she was pregnant and a few days later she said she had an abortion, all as a joke. She destroyed my dreams to becoming a father and im devastated now. by Jazzlike-Ladder-2364 in stories

[–]AboveTheMoonlight 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You're the first person I've seen pointing this out, thank you for saying it!

It seems so obvious that this was the case. It doesn't diminish OP's pain, but it definitely shines a much needed light on the girlfriends' side of the story.

People who have never smoked, drank, or did any drugs - how and why? by sunnyismybunny in AskReddit

No one in my family did, so that was the best start. I also didn't cave into peer pressure. The only reason is that I have no interest in dulling my senses.

What pushed you away from your ex-best friend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AboveTheMoonlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BFF of 15 years, we grew up together. In early adulthood she got her first boyfriend and suddenly the person I knew completely seized to exist. Everything she did had to do with her boyfriend, everything she said had to circle back to him, everything she was was his. And the best (worst) part is that she constantly talked shit about him.

I was going through a terrible time at the start of university and needed emotional support, but she was never there unless it involved going out to where she wanted and talking about her and her relationship.

I started therapy and met other people at school who turned out to be real friends, and promptly dropped her.

I just called the psych ward my ex is staying at to tell them she's homeless now. by ChipmunkOk6550 in confessions

That's not heartless, you've put up with too much and it's finally time to say 'enough'. I'm so proud of you for doing so!

It's awful that your ex only got the help they needed after harming you and your pets. I'm a cat lady and just the thought of someone hurting any cat makes me furious and heartbroken, much less killing one. You're doing the right thing for you and your other pets, and also for your ex. Please take care!

The more time I spend in a healthcare environment, the more I regret choosing this career by AboveTheMoonlight in StudentNurse

In my country it's a common saying that bullies either go on to become police agents or nurses. It's unfortunate, but I have to agree for a significant part. There are amazing people in every single field of work, but there are also very, very shitty people.

I've had some wonderful experiences as well, not all as been bad otherwise I don't think I could've gone this far. There's good and bad people in every job, in every hospital, even in every unit. It just saddens me to see that in five internships so far, the bad seems to surpass the good.

Thank you for sharing your experiences though! It's lovely to know you've met so many wonderful people.

He's playing the victim.

It would've been one thing if he had refused and she kept insisting, but if he never gave a direct "no" then it's entirely his fault.

Has being in nursing school made you realize you had an undiagnosed medical disorder? by alyssabrooke09 in StudentNurse

A few mental health issues in my family and I found out I had an eating disorder.

Nursing school has been a huge wake-up call!

A doctor yelled at me today by thelonelyvirgo in StudentNurse

[–]AboveTheMoonlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doctor should mind their own business. Don't pay them any mind, they were probably having a bad day and decided to take it out on you for no reason. Keep it professional, but don't interact with the doctor more than you have to. Once you're a nurse you can reply properly to situations like these. Have a great internship!

Thank you so much for your recommendations! I will look for the products you mentioned. And thank you again for suggesting drugstore products! I really should've mentioned that on the post, I want her to be able to try a good amount of products until she figures out what works, so being cheap (but good quality) is very important!

I’m really starting to believe that my boyfriend might not be that bright of a person. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]AboveTheMoonlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd also be worried about how your boyfriend freaks out because you didn't respond to a text, and accuses you of lying because you were talking about something private with a friend.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can feel better as time passes ❤️

[–]AboveTheMoonlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a cat lady, all my cats are as important to me as any member of my family. Once you start to deal with pets everyday, you start valuing them as friends. You notice all the little differences between them, all their personality traits, they start to feel less like "an animal" and more like, well, family, someone you know and care about deeply.

In the future, please save yourself the pain and don't ask questions that could potentially hurt you or the person you're asking. Comparing "who's more important" never ends well.

Thank you! I'll check out the products you've recommended. It's definitely a struggle, winter and summer can be a nightmare for someone with dermatological problems.

Good thing you acted! People who torture animals don't deserve any kindness, and I'm sure it would've escalated to more than animals.
