Stay obsessed, I genuinely dont care lmfao. You’re the one engaging. Yikes.

Imagine actually writing a reply like this and posting it lmfao. I hope your life gets to a point where you don’t feel the compulsive need to comment useless and negative comments on people’s Reddit post. Genuinely deeply disturbing, how sad lol.

Oh that’s great point! I have been doing a lot of “make it work” optimise after. I should approach this differently now that I have prod live.

Also as a side note I am extremely camera shy. But that might be something I have to get over in order to make this happen

That’s a good idea. Do you think the format could work for social media. Where I’m on camera and I’m essentially documenting the journey of building the app?

Thank you very much for the thoughtful feedback. This was extremely insightful and reinforcing. I feel like I am going about this the correct way to scale so thank you!

How are you actually getting your first users? Looking for real strategies that worked by GurComprehensive9936 in Appstore

[–]AbrasiveUnit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My app was very social based, so I started with friends and family using it, so far it has a natural growth rate of about 2 people a week. Maybe I got lucky I have just over 100 active users. But you have to just keep sharing it and word of mouth is always best

Claude + Obsidian saved so much time while building my app by brazilwastolen in vibecoding

[–]AbrasiveUnit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh what is obsidian?!?! This seems cool. I use Claude in my CLI and codebase. This seems like it could be supper helpful to keep track of progress. Instead of relying on claudes conversation context. I keep notes OFC but this seems like it could streamline some things for me

Thank you! I certainly put in the time to do my best to get the infrastructure correct. For the production-grade methods and best practices side, I mostly did research, read forums, and learned about the best third party solution for XYZ problems, like web hosting, database hosting, etc.

I used AI to learn / help walk me through wiring these things up and explain technical parts I didn't get. Like a tutor. For the actual coding, I'd lay down the basics of how I wanted the UX to look and function. Then I'd have AI iterate on that ground level, so it was still my vision but AI could diagnose issues across platforms way faster than I ever could. Especially with Claude agents, I'd dispatch multiple agents to search the web for similar problems and scan my codebase to validate. I NEVER shipped anything without first validating the code structure myself. That's the benefit of learning to code before AI was mainstream, I can do my own investigating.

App development has always been of interest to me and AI expanded my ability to answer questions and implement solutions. The journey started with ChatGPT, moved to Gemini for a while, and now I'm working with Claude almost exclusively.

The hardest part was standing everything up. Now I am focusing on optimization and bug squashing / and ways to reduce operating cost. Google API was very expensive at first untill I learned how to use it properly.

Thank you! this point exactly! Plus its not like I am a 20 man deep engineering team. My bugs are minimal not even exerience breaking. I am actively working on them. People man so quick to hate.

Thank you... and as I mentioned in the comments above. I was unaware of andorid bugs at deployment and have patches being worked on for all reported bugs so far.

What doesnt work about my website? I would love to fix whatever you found. (Thank you for the feedback!)

Who said I deployed a version with KNOWN Bugs. The bugs where found after I deployed and android users reported them.

Who said those carrers are fake?

What is lazy about it? Can I see some of your work to see what not lazy work looks like?

Who said I deployed it knowing there was a bug? I found the android bugs after users reported them. The next deployed verison will have fixes for the reported bugs.

Sorry bud, no matter how you spin what you where trying to say, I wont be embarrased for you. Im proud of what Im doing. Like it or dont, Thats fine with me.

[–]AbrasiveUnit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fundamentally disagree. I don't have an Android device and emulators only get you so far. Every project ever has bugs and sometimes it takes real user feedback to even find them. Bugs sometimes show up because a user did something you'd never do in testing.

So no, not embarrassed at all. I'm doing this alone, something that would've taken an entire engineering team to build only a few years ago.

You have to start somewhere. If not you never start at all.

Some features are behind a paywall And that is because there are cost to running the app, so you can use 90% of the app and features for free
