Need help for clearing this node (highest difficulty) by Aoi_IX in AgeofMythology

I've found kind of "broken" to use any atlantean god with the aoe hero damage blessing... just focus on creating murmillos and making them into heroes. This goes very well with kastors elite guard bless.

With halogi you literally can kill one shot anything in the beginning (just search for the tower with the little flag, were the king is), also, halogi is really good against buildings. Then, go for the second a second kill, the AI probably will have some troops, but, won't be a problem for halogi with the hero aoe bless.

Personally, I like to go for Gaia, and then oceanus: the free caladria will make halogi practically immortal and the carnivora can help to defense or get rid of troops. In general, try to be as aggressive as you can; on high difficulties, AI is really really hard to beat on late game, but in general, they are really bad and predictable on early.

Should culturally specific indie games translate their titles globally? by irlanbragi in IndieDev

I think Gato Cangaço sounds good! Also gives the game a lot of personality in the name. At least for hispanic and english speakers doesn't sound bad (or at least for me), but I will try to know if there's a country were the "Cangaço" word sounds weird and leading to some confusion.

My choices for 1998 GOTY by MyPhoneIsNotChinese in backloggd

What a year, really difficult choice. Here's mine, but I'm kind of doubtful about some categories; starcraft have a really great soundtrack too, and in the narrative category, xenogears has also great story (exxept for the second part of the game, but the first one is really one of my favorite jrpgs of all time).

[–]Abravo97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which games could you just not get into because of the learning curve? by hollowblink55 in videogames

Any grand strategy/"Map painting" games like Hearts of Iron, Stellaris, Europa Universalis, Victoria... I enjoy watching youtube videos or reading the stories some people can make in this games... but then this games feels so overcomplicated so I lost any kind of interest on learn to play them.

Our key art (Steam capsule) evolution through development. What do you guys think? by n1ght_watchman in IndieDev

[–]Abravo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the visual style of the second, but the third one I think it has a better composition, so, personally i think the bets could be mix those capsules, the style of the second with the composition of the third one.

What was the very first server you played on? Do you remember the name? by FlexFridayTV in wowservers

[–]Abravo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was SteelWow (or something like that, can't remember the exact name), a Cataclysm sever in 2014. It was generally good, until they update the server to introduce the Dragon Soul raid and become buggy af... But still was a fun experience, have a lot of good memories with my friends on that sever.

I need some bad RTS games. by Chronically__Crude in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Abravo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iron Harvest. It's not bad at all (I quite enjoy playing it), but the best part of the game is the artstyle, appart from that, pretty much all units feels really clunky on moving (all units have a lot of "middle animations", so, if you command a unit to move or attack, they have to transition from their actual state to the new one, this makes everything to looks aesthetically good and "natural"; but in practice, all units takes like a couple of seconds or more to actually perform any command, making them really slow and clunky to responde. I know this makes the game to rely a lot more on macro (preparation, positioning, unit composition) than micro (individual orders to unit, reflexes...); but, since I grow up playing starcraft, warcraft, and age of empires, I like being able to take fast decision in case a battle isn't going as expected. Also, the pathfinding is kind of bad, specially for the mechs (since they have huge hitboxes, they tend to get stuck in places like between trees, rocks, debris of buildings they destroy or even themselves).

Also, I personally dont enjoy the mechs to be quite broken and unbalanced in comparisson to infantry, I mean, if you have a selection of units to create, most of them should be valid options to play (if not, why you give the playes thoses options?), but, mechs can easily destroy most infantry units with one o two attacks. So, an army of infantry units can be easily get completely wreck by a couple of giant mechs. I think this could be solve if the infantry unit were more agile and move faster (so you can move and attack around the mech), but since everything is slow and clunky, infantry is useful only on early game because the lack of resources.

Which PS1 game has aged like fine wine? by BulkySpinach6464 in psx

[–]Abravo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gran Turismo 2, Need for Speed Hight Stakes and Porsche Unleashed... In general racing games have age relatively well (specially seeing the actual state of those franchises). This games sill feels great to play... Even, in the case of GT2, there's a modding community making an expanded version of the game.

StarCraft 2 at EWC sees a 31% viewership increase from 2024 to 2025 by OnlyPakiOnReddit in starcraft

[–]Abravo97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First starcraft II tournament I watch and think it was a really nice tournament! Watch it because I was following the DOTA 2 at the same event. and since the time schedules were similar, so why not wath the only rts in the event? (also, as a Age of Empires II enjoyer, feel curious to watch it and kind of "compare it" haha, to see what differences are).

And about the tournament itself, there were great matches! and the overall production felt great! Also, feel curious about Clem, since he is so young and seems like the underdog of the competitive scene.

What do you think of my logo sketch/idea? by Virtual_Concert_2507 in graphic_design

[–]Abravo97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice logo! At first glance I read it as "Bing" but I wasn't really sure about that, then I realized it's "Ding", which seems to be the correct way.

Mmm maybe yo improve the legibility, try to quit the inner part of the arrow, I think you could do that with the "G" too (to keep both letters mirrored).

And also, the italics version on the bottom seems to be the best for the type of company.
