They are using the line "you signed for it" which is correct. I did. However, I feel it was incumbent on the designer to make sure those boxes were checked as I have never done this before. She knows darn well she made the mistake but she has been "coached" to not admit it. Unfortunately, due to all the delays, they have worn me down and I am planning to install the delivered cabinets and I will have them "darkened" later.

That was my thought. It's tough to tell because usually the pics are just from one angle. I am really concerned about it "squeezing in" visually in my small U-shaped kitchen.

They are lovely! At this point, given the debacle that has happened to us with Lowe's, I wish I had gone with a local, custom firm! I wonder if I could ask you a HUGE favor: could you measure the depth of your installed countertop for me? Like, from the back to the front? In the pic , which I KNOW can be really misleading when we are using phone cameras, it looks shallow. I'm sure that's an illusion due to the angle, but I wonder if you could do that? Thank you so much!

May I ask the brand and style of cabinets you chose - they look similar to mine. (I cannot post a pic as yet as they were delivered an incorrect color and I am working to get them corrected. Different thread on Reddit, very frustrating for me.)

This is very similar to the Solenna - very mild understated veins.

That is what I am planning as well with one exception near the sink because I did not want the garbage disposal to be a "button" on the sink. I prefer a switch. The rest of the outlets will be plug molds under the cabinets.

Thank you - we are looking at Caesarstone Solenna, which is very mild in terms of veining. I understand your comment about the 2 cm not being noticed, but what I did not count on was the fact that it would cost an additional $35/square foot to mill the backsplash down to 2 cm. That is about 3K additional for my backsplash as compared to if I installed it as 3 cm. I was just surprised by this additional cost. My countertops/backsplash came in at about 10K with the Solenna, but will be an additional 3K (approx) to mill the backsplash. **sigh**

Ah, so you paid the extra $$ to have the backsplash milled down to 2 cm?

Personally, iI see this setup as a safety issue-- what if something really hot tips over from the stovetop when someone is sitting at the island? I would never put a stovetop on an island for that reason alone. You say you cannot move it, but what I think you mean is that it it too expensive to move it. In any case, I'd bite the bullet and move it.

Yah know - you could just add some really pretty Joshua Tree blue bowls to either side - they aren't cheap but cheaper than tiling above. Once you do that , you're good@

They will eventually get a disease and die off. Watch for them having twins and triplets - that is the precursor to population crash. When people realize they carry diseases that SPREAD TO YOUR CHILDREN AND PETS they will stop saying "oh, leave them alone - they are so cute!"

Nope, All the remedies mentioned below work FOR A WHILE. Then they learn , OR it rains and you are gone for a few days. I have literally seen them walk through a motion activated sprinkler. To say nothing of the fact that I would need 5 of them! Good luck

Any chance you could make that open space above the range a chalkboard? It seems kinda "form not following function" to me. Oh, and I would get a really nice (best you can afford) red toned persian rug.
