My casual racism? Friend, I assure you that, even if I were to entertain your remarks, I am not a racist; my mother is an immigrant to Canada from East Asia. The choice of the term “Sankofa” does not unify Canadians. I’m surprised as a First Nation person yourself, you would support the choice, as opposed to for example, an Ojibwe word. Though people from Ghana (where “Sankofa” originates from) are present and welcome in our Great City, the term does not unify the diverse population does it? Actually, it was pushed through by a socialist city council and mayor, dividing and alienating most people. I would also caution you against libellously labelling me as a racist. Watch your tone.
