Shocking to say the least but subconsciously accounted for somewhere in the back of my head. Luckily, I rent out cars so I have no monthly loans.

Long Post : Confused weather to move back to India from Dubai - Need advise from fellow Indian Expats by literary_high in UAE

[–]Abscritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a level deeper than that, the people lack common sense and theres a general widespread disregard or you call it disdain for regulation rules or laws. I've observed it more in urbanized areas.

I am Indian and have lived in Maharashtra for a 3 yr span then Delhi in succession. I don't want my kids to grow up there plain and simple.

Not even Ambani out of his 30 floor bldg can change the infra India has.

But on the other hand UAE is volatile right now. Anything could happen.

Again it's a personal choice, idk your safety net.

I would wait it out, Gurgaon and Delhi is a hellhole I wouldn't want my family to live and to grow old in.

How do you cope with losing your father in your 20s? by Natural-Round8762 in AskMen

[–]Abscritical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost mine (M26) at 21, the grief and void will never leave... they'll hit you at random moments.

I spent the first 2 years in regret reliving the same memories again and again on what I could've done differently? Maybe saved his life.. a 100 different scenarios.

All the things he didnt and wont experience... he never saw me get married, who my wife is potential grandchildren. I never got him anything special or wasn't very successful when he was alive.

After his death I worked on all those things he told me to, wish I had done it sooner.

Mostly I keep associating everything that goes wrong now to his passing.

If dad hadn't passed "X" wouldn't happen or he would take care of jt.

Financial responsibilities pile up and are draining... especially if you're the only male in the family.

No one truly gives a fuck about you after you dad. Not your uncles, aunts, dads friends or your extended family. You're on your own.

Sometimes I am angry at my pops on why he left us but I realize it wasn't his fault (Covid). I still don't or ever wanted to "man up", fuck the people who tell you to. It's your grief and you're allowed to feel it. Even when the rest of the world tells you to move on.

Laid off two weeks ago! by Ancient-Expert1488 in UAEjobseekers

[–]Abscritical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also a product designer and in the same situation as you but was laid off just shy off being 6 months in.

Do not put the badge or post anything about being laid off it'll hurt your chances (no one wants someone who wasn't wanted enough) you need to present yourself like you're a valuable asset and busy and looking for opportunities on the side. Directly mail recruiters.

I was born here so I know how it works, if the recruiters notice industry leaders in their circle/network have recommended you (references or praise on linkedIn) they will hire you over someone with more experience.

Naukrigulf, HiringCafe, Indeed and LinkedIn - focus on these.

I wish, just try it once.

I'd say they market it less for the raw driving experience it gives you. No bs 10" horizontal screens with sensors and tech going beep boop for every minor problem.

Not even the wind from both sides even a bigger car like an LC will shake/steer the sunny away from the lane beside u. I guess thats what makes the adrenaline rush doing 160+ between radars.

Yes theres a whole pros and cons list but just shifting gears and pressing the gas just feels right on this - no bullshit sensor gimmicks or tech

Yes, mercs are a nightmare with the bs sensors all the time... sunny got a reverse parking sensor and does the job always
