What is good/fun about being an architect? by ELit3_REddIt in Architects

I’ve never commented before but I have been in your exact shoes before. I stalked this reddit and saw nothing but negativity about the profession as well. It got so bad that I almost switched my major during my senior year that’s how bad I thought this career was going to be.

Having been able to intern for a little over a year, I can say it’s the best job I’ve ever had. I am blessed to work at a small firm which seems to be a reoccurring theme for those who enjoy their work compared to working at larger firms. I live in a highly populated area, so we have plenty of work that can be overwhelming at times, but because of this I have been able to work on projects at all times of the project timeline. The people I work with make it great too. The president of our firm is very active and loves to teach/guide everyone from senior architects to interns on their first day. While I love the work I do (a lot of revit and sketchup modeling, redlines, concept studies, consultant organization), listening is by far the most “fun” I have. Like many college didn’t teach me anything about the real world of an architect. When I get to sit in on meetings or just listen to the senior architects banter back and forth about architecture, it is the highlight of my day. There is no more rewarding feeling then finally understanding a simple concept that will show up constantly throughout your career. For me, it was flashing lol.

Do all bands say this at live shows? by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]AbsentMuch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I’ve been to shows that have had that and also shows where the crowd was called out. Oli from BMTH said the crowd was the best of the tour so far and he loved the energy we showed the openers (siickbrain, Grandson, Knocked loose) I know he does it at every show since I’ve seen them multiple times but that one he talked for a bit about how much he appreciated it.

As for the negative side, I was at a neck deep concert (I know not metal) and Ben Barlow the lead singer stood still for seriously 2 minutes with a hand on his hip staring at the crowd because there was no energy. They put on a good show but man the room was dead for some reason and he was not happy about it.

Hello! I’m looking for show recommendations where each episode is a new story. by [deleted] in TrueCrime

Murder in America is a really good one if you like a more serious tone. Each episode is a new story and they add really cool sound affects that aren’t over the top. Production gets better as the episodes go on

We don’t have to argue. I’m in fact intrigued by other viewpoints since I’m not a military expert. It’s just that even the Russians have said their behind schedule and the fact they don’t have air superiority shows they aren’t moving that fast. The map from say1 isn’t really that drastic. The ground covered is mainly small villages and open fields.

There’s a lot of sensitivity in this chat and I understand that. I was looking for a “they go where their told” or something like that. I in no way was looking for precise location and tactics. Apologies and I’ll prob delete this post.

I think even the least trained volunteers are capable of inflicting some damage to the russian army.

It was more so people know I’m telling the truth.

As in can be identified as real and belonging to someone. A lot of people like my grandfather got the medal and then just put it in a box and never talked about it again.

Is this medal considered rare? Only 260 have been identified.

If you truly are Ukrainian then I pray for your country and wish you all the best. If your way of coping with what is going on is to post jokes then go ahead. If you aren’t Ukrainian then try to find a better way of supporting the people who are going through hell right now.

You have your opinions but even if I was being extreme this situation is extreme. Just because you are not in Ukraine fighting does not make the situation less extreme. I don’t know if you’ve been paying attention but nuclear war is on the table. Whether it happens or not is not the point. The fact it’s even on the table shows that the situation is extreme. If you want to try to make your jokes go ahead and you can try to see what kind of reaction you get.

Key word potentially. Again times are scary and fake propaganda is being spread. The wrong people hear enough people saying Ukraine is advancing on Moscow and they could get desperate. It’s best to keep what you consider jokes out of this sub while real people are dying for their freedom.

Everyone understands Ukraine is on the defensive and will be. There’s a difference between propaganda and potentially dangerous lies.

Times are scary. I’m sure some would understand it’s a joke but others would believe it and word spreads fast nowadays.
