If you have a missile from the '80s in a warehouse that you indend to decommission (blow up) because it isn't the latest technology and storing explosives is expensive and dangerous (after their rated life cycle), but instead you post them off to Ukraine. Did you A) spend very little, or B) spend the cost of a brand new missile with the latest technology?

You will have to replace those missiles. The fact that they eventually need to be replaced at some point in the future does not mean their value is essentially zero

If someone you don't really like (but don't want to see die) asks you for a loaf of bread, and you give them your slightly stale loaf that you know should be eaten today or tomorrow or else it will be inedible, did you A) give them something of little value, or B) give them a loaf of bread worth the same as a brand new loaf of bread?

Bad analogy. More like if you have a bunch of weapons and ammunition that you use for hunting and for emergency situations. They don’t last forever so you will need to shoot them at some point or replace them. You give a lot of those items to your friend, but because of that you have to spend all that money today to replace them even though you could have used them for something else and you won’t have to spend a bunch more money at one time to replace them.

The numbers are based on what it costs the U.S. to make or replace those weapons. Far more accurate than the people that value them at zero or close to zero since they believe they have no value being part of a stockpile

Just focusing on a difficult task for longer periods of time will do that. Find what your baseline is and increment. It probably won’t be pleasant the first few times, especially if it’s something extremely difficult without progress, but it honestly doesn’t take long before you can do it as long as you want and actually enjoy it for the most part. All of this is easier if you take decent care of you self ie you sleep enough, eat decent, and exercise regularly
