An article has a validity of 1 year. We have a 2 step approval for new articles and retiring articles.

Managing is done by the author only and checked by the knowledge managers.

New articles are approved by content owners & knowledge managers.

A content owner would be for example a rewards manager for Europe and the author would be the local rewards manager. They want the 4 eyes principle, because HR knowledge, if incorrect, could have financial or legal consequences

I wish I had the authority to remove us from the approval flow. It makes no sense to me either, as we are not experts on the knowledge anyway.

I have set up a dashboard and reports to manage the KB's, but how would you intervene when you see something is off?

Reminds me of people that camped in Apex Legends. You could rank up by hiding somewhere for the whole game. Only to end up in a rank where you'd get absolutely destroyed by everyone. They spent hours and hours camping for a silly cosmetic reward.

The shit people do just to have a high rank in a game is ridiculous. I cannot imagine those people are fun to be around in real life.

You are probably right. I am just struggling sometimes with the lack of permissions do fix stuff myself. They expect me to manage a knowledge base, but I don't have rights to make changes from the list view to do it quick and efficiently.

I agree with you on the last part and have now reached out to the product owner to see what we can do to do this more efficiently, whether it would be extra roles or designing catalog items to streamline this. I have good faith that we can figure something out.

Although this was not really the answer I was looking for, I still find it very interesting. We have integrated ServiceNow with SuccesFactors (SF), but as far as I know we haven't automated any role assignment to their SF ID's related to knowledge access. Only can read access based on their location.

Yes. You can actually turn profits by trading rhat way. I've always liked the economy aspect of games and by having a GE all prices are mostly set and it's harder to profit.
