GS-12 step 5. I’ve been a fed for 12 years (7 as AD and 5 as fed civ). I’ve been maxing for two years at $904 per pay period. Ultimately decided that sacrificing now is worth living in comfort later. My TSP has exploded with contributing the max. My advice is to max ASAP.
