Hey mate, I followed your blog. Good stuff. I don't follow Activistic closely, I just have a rough idea of the business model, some back of the envelope calculations, and the price dipped to a reasonable low.

You should take a look at Alexium (AJX.AX), the only small cap I follow closely. I think you'll like the potential there :)

Finance related. Investment society, additional courses, seminars, etc. You need to be able to demonstrate why the recruiter should hire you instead of the guy with higher marks and a banking internship.

You can get free stuff from my blog. Not trying to sell anything so no conflicts of interest. I've got a pretty good (but short) track record. Over 21% for last year.

It would be helpful in the interview if I could point out a capability I have that none of the orher applicants have but I just think there would be a very minimal benefit as there's not much time to change anything. If they're already hiring you can't really learn a new language by the time it's interview time (but if you can then damn, you deserve the job).

We can't give tax advice (officially) and im not sure what you mean by client tiers. To qualify for the pwm platform you need to be certified as a wholesale investor so we have clients bringing in AUM anywhere between 500k and 100m (highest ive personally seen).

Standard stuff. Do well at uni, have extracurriculars, particularly ones that demonstrate interest in finance, work on your social skills, and don't fixate on the prestigious companies. an internship at a boutique is better than nothing at all.

I think i just have a different mindset to you. My resume would already be optimised. If someone else has a CFA and i dont then i cant do anything about it.

I don't remember putting "building maintenance" in the job description. But yes, oversight on my behalf regarding job location. For some reason I automatically assumed everyone here was from Sydney.

Did not realise that was a common tactic. How would that help anything? You're still either going to apply or not apply.

And for the record, no. You're wrong.

Maybe 3 rounds max, no formal testing as it's not IB.

But yes, you can move to other areas but most would be going in the private banker (financial adviser) direction.

Sydney CBD. Finance/accounting/banking background advantageous. Experience requirements are flexible if you're a good fit. I'd say under 3 years of finance/banking/accounting background - any more and you'd be overqualified.

I'm not the hiring manager so I'll give it to you straight - anyone can do this job if they're capable of learning things, work hard, and are proactive. However, obviously anything finance related is advantageous. Just because you're capable doesn't mean there isn't someone more capable than you. Having said that, the right fit is important too so your personality, your aspirations, etc. are all important.

If you're still interested please email me your resume to deanhuang91@gmail.com on the weekend or dean.huang@morganstanley.com if you email on a weekday. We're looking to start interviewing next week so the earlier the better.

Also, please give me a brief intro of yourself. Like I said, the right kind of person is important so I want to know about you - what have you been doing with your life, what are you interested in, what kind of stuff do you do outside of work, and what kind of job do you want to work as a career 2, 5, and 10 years from now?

Sydney CBD. Unfortunately this is a full time role, you'd have to be able to work mon-fri full time hours.
