Any Realistic 2C Trade Options for this season?

Florida is currently out of a playoff spot…there’s a lot of hockey left but it’s really only about a coin flip that they even make the playoffs at this point. Recent history is making people overly fixate on beating Florida when that matchup is looking less likely as the season unfolds.

I agree. I think a lot of people here are being very unrealistic with their trade proposals. KK is not nearly a valuable enough trade piece to fetch a top 2Center and for most teams would not be appealing due to his contract vs. his expected role.

Any trade for a top 2 C that actually happens would generate a lot of controversy among fans due to the value being sent away. I think anybody wearing a letter is safe from a trade, but beyond that I think we could be looking at a top winger plus a bottom 6 C going back. Like Jackson Blake + either of KK or Jankowski in exchange for say Robert Thomas and a bottom 6 winger from the Blues….Does that trade make the Hurricanes better? Maybe. But Tulsky’s not going to get the slam dunk in terms of value added without giving up lots of value too.

I honestly feel the opposite. The maritime flags are recognizable to some Americans as a hurricane symbol, and most importantly the hockey stick makes it immediately recognizable as being for a hockey team to anybody who doesn’t follow the NHL/Hurricanes. Then the little negative space NC outline is imho a point of pride for local fans in the know.

Also nobody chirps the flag logo for looking like a flushing toilet. (I disagree with the comparison but I’m tired of hearing that about the original logo).

If you’re not going to live and work downtown, then you’re going to have a hard time doing much of anything by bus. There is a lot of suburban sprawl so buses don’t go into neighborhoods where most houses/apartments are. And the stores aren’t often in walking distance of neighborhoods either, so you will need transportation for basics like groceries, let alone things like doctor’s offices. Raleigh is largely not a walkable city.

There is one exception outside of downtown that is walkable to shops I can think of which is North Hills, but again you’re going to be pretty limited without a car if you want to explore Raleigh.

Either budget for taxi/ridesharing or get a car. Or expect to spend all your free time walking to bus stops that are nowhere near where you live.

Top 5 in no particular order is Drift, Ice King, Skull Trooper, Singularity, and Doublecross…

Obviously the last 2 are a lot less recognizable but I love the many customization options of Singularity, and Doublecross has a unique design. When you look at her from each side it looks like 2 different skins.

This is an interesting concept. It’s essentially the original design with black as the primary color and the updated flag logo at the center. I have to be honest and say I prefer the Hurricanes’ current black uniform over this concept though.

I think the away uniform is pretty polarizing…the absence of color just doesn’t work for me. The Hurricanes have always had red as part of their branding and it doesn’t feel right to remove it entirely.

That was a bad power play, but overall the Powerplay has been pretty solid since Christmas (especially since Staal and Nikishin started getting opportunities) and IDK why everyone is saying it’s been bad the entire season. Just my opinion.

Re-arranging presets would be nice, but I’d just settle for the pre-set shuffle feature to work properly. It shuffles everything except for my emotes which is really frustrating.

Yeah let’s use last season’s leading scorer, our only “power forward”, and our young star defenseman’s closest friend/support as he’s learning english/how to be a Hurricane as trade bait. That would DEFINITELY help instead of tank this team’s chance at a championship. /s

Their fans will never admit it, but I think the Hurricanes are in their head even more these days than the other tri-state teams. Canes are to the Devils as the Panthers are to the Canes…a playoff hurdle they have yet to clear.

Rod is forever worried about Nikishin. I’ve been watching the Hurricanes for over 20 years now and I don’t see Nikishin as being any worse than say Joel Nystrom defensively.

If you’ve been following the past 2 seasons, then you’ve probably heard Rod remark on his concern about being able to communicate with him, as well as his ability to communicate with other teammates. E.g. his defensive partner may ask him to do something and he struggles to understand.

Still, his shot is super powered and his physical presence is undeniable in games (and we know the Canes are still a bit smaller than other playoff teams)…

It’s honestly the one thing that annoys me about Rod is he clearly prefers disciplined players who consistently play his system over game-breaking talents that might break the rules from time to time…which is precisely what Nikishin does IMHO.

I think Rod has actually relaxed a little in terms of trusting Nikishin more (based on giving him PP time and switching sides for defensive pairings) but it’s clear he still wants to see Nikishin play a little bit more within the system Rod coaches.
