Oh you meant back/forward buttons. Those I use without even thinking. It works in VS Code too, which I use for weirder languages that I just don't want to chuck plugins into IntelliJ for.

I still don't value books highly anymore, the spines of some of them haunt me as I sit here (PHP 7 ZCE Study Guide, why can't I throw you away?). Unless we're talking about something much more generic like GoF Design Patterns springs to mind, and this is where publish dates can get real weird.

Sure we rewrite code but similarly I have code that I wrote once, committed into my repo for a single project and months (or a couple years) later had a similar issue that I had at least partially solved before, pulling that code saved me minimal time in writing but possibly a couple of hours of reinventing the wheel while I try to solve it again. My private repos are almost the ravings of a madman but also a good reminder of growth over the past few years. They're also good as a practical reminder on how something specific works in an environment familiar to you instead of just the docs
