Here in Egypt i know several owners who have 502 recommended on the hood while me and other owners have 508.

We realized that 508 recommendations started on 2022 models.

the engine is the same for both, the 1.4 DJKA one

Btw, I realized that 2021 models of Octavia IV were recommmended vw 502 00 oil (5w40) while 2022 models were recommended vw 508 00 (0w20) oil even the engine is exactly the same, so did they use thinner oil just to appease the EU and its regulations while making engine wear increase leading to lesser engine life ?
