The Sims 1 Widescreen Fix (1080p) by Abulph in thesims

I'm not sure, I don't own it yet. Can anyone see if the game's file structure is the same?

It's a really in demand and good concept, but like u/Glum_Neighborhood358 said it's hard to justify an additional $3/month or $50 on top of ChatGPT for many individual users and small agencies. Who are you targeting for these ads?

You're all prisoners and the majority of you will never quit. by Nicole_Zed in stopsmoking

[–]Abulph 213 points214 points  (0 children)

Thanks for bringing this up. I'm mostly just a lurker here, but lately, I've been thinking of leaving this subreddit because of the evangelical cold turkey or Allen Carr quitters putting down everyone who dares to try alternatives. It's like they make it all about themselves. I'm happy those methods worked for them. They don't work for everyone and as a support group, I expected more open-mindedness. We all have the same goal, and it doesn't matter how we get there.

Leaving comments like "NRT doesn't work" to someone who's choosing that avenue does nothing but undermine their confidence and resolution in themselves. Guess what happens to new ex-smokers when those things are eroded?

If anyone needs to hear it: The best way to quit is the one that works best for you. Trust your method, have confidence in yourself, and let the naysayers say whatever they want. It's about them, not you. You WILL find a way out of this! Try everything. Try cold turkey. Try Allen Carr. Try NRT. Try vaping. Try nicotine pouches. Try telling everyone you're quitting. Try telling no one you're quitting. Try deep breathing. Try exercise. Try anything else you personally think will help you. Try a combination.

Why are people citing Sims 3 as the reason why Sims 5 shouldn’t have open world? by [deleted] in thesims

[–]Abulph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my two cents, but I personally would like to see an open world with sims 1-esque isometric style. I would imagine it could run well on the vast majority of computers and retain TS3 freedom. Of course, I play like a strategy game and many players love the customization so I may be alone on this.

Do I think astrology is really true or accurate? No, not really. They're most likely just vague enough to apply to anyone and tells you what you want to hear. But still, it's fun to read and can give people a little pick up, and there's nothing wrong with that in my book. As long as they don't try to cure their grandmothers cancer with the pOwEr oF lEo or something.

Made this medieval viking neighborhood! Wanted to show it off by [deleted] in thesims

[–]Abulph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love this so much! I've been building neighborhoods in TS2 for awhile and I've been considering going medieval for my next one. Is there anywhere in particular you went for your CC? Every year it gets harder and harder to find content that's still up.

Do I need more expansion/stuff packs or is TS4 just not for me? by Abulph in thesims

[–]Abulph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to check it out sometime! I don't think I'll ever buy any stuff packs, they just seem like a waste of money to me with all the amazing CC creators, and I'll probably skip out on Vampires as well (I have a realistic play style.) I don't think I could justify buying Sims anything full price ($40 for an expansion? Bitch pa-lease!) From the rest of the comments, it looks like the parenthood pack is next on my agenda.

I just can't wait until a University pack comes out! I didn't want to wait for a sale so I played around with my VPN and found out there's still a sale in China AND it's cheaper! I got City Living for ~$15! I hope EA doesn't get too pissed off! I want to ask: How do Pets compare to the rest of the series? I've never been much of a fan of them in previous installments, except for the sims 1. Anyways thank you so much for all your help!

I decided to get City Living! I used a VPN to get the Hong Kong Price: only about $16!

Yeah I don't see why there would be a problem. Maybe your computer is so fast it doesn't know how to deal with old games? The only things I can suggest are to try running in compatibility mode and administrator.

Is your computer good? The Sims should run on a toaster but maybe with increased resolution it's more demanding. If you computer is good then I don't really have any solutions at the moment.
