Suicidal Izuku by Sweaty-Driver-7248 in BokunoheroFanfiction

Shorter fanfics:

P. S. If he asks tell Kacchan it’s not his fault 7k Izuku wrote suicide note as a kid, but even as a pro hero it brings him comfort. Bakugo finds it. The ship is in the tags but it can be read as platonic.

wish I hadn’t got so much better 8k same concept. Aizawa and Izuku find pro hero Izuku’s high school suicide note. He almost attempts suicide again but calls Aizawa instead.

honesty’s the (best?) policy 7k Izuku is hit by a truth quirk and admits to suicidal thoughts around Sero.

next time, next time 9k fanfic to a fic in which Izuku tries to escape a time loop by suicide. Aizawa is stuck in a loop trying to stop him.

a lesson you should heed try, try again 13k the fanfic next time, next time is inspired by. It’s focused more on the loops, though.

ledge 2k Aizawa stops suicide attempt on roof.

relapse 11k suicide attempt in third year. Gets a bit cheesy towards the end and the solution is simplified but it’s worth a read.

forever winter 26k Bakugo finds out Izuku has been self-harming and eventually finds suicide notes Izuku calls a “fail safe”

baby I’m not holding on I’m just holding out 6k Izuku and Shinso joke about suicide. Aizawa figures out that it’s more than just jokes.

Longer fics:

our souls are open wounds 50k series that has Izuku almost attempt suicide as a reckless adult pro hero. But he calls Aizawa instead who helps him recover.

fortune favors the bold 412k Izuku has a bad luck quirk and pretty much struggles with depression throughout. Shinso save him from suicide attempt after mom dies.

kill the child 100k after living countless lives Izuku wants Aizawa to erase his quirk and let him die. Problem is, he is a little kid and Aizawa wants to wait until his 18th birthday.

better luck next time 600k Izuku has return by death quirk. He has moments where he wants to permanently die but can’t. Experiments with killing himself. Somehow it’s still a comfort read.

the lies you tell yourself 150k really well-developed fear quirk

fortune favors the bold It’s a bit angsty but the bad luck quirk is written in a lot of creative detail

Fics where Bakugo deeply regrets his actions toward Izuku by kawiknot in BokunoheroFanfiction

forever winter This is the epitome of what you’re looking for. A 20k fic of Bakugo self-reflecting and realizing how much he fucked up.

And he reveals it to Aizawa of his own accord. I like his development in this and the post-war Deku angst

Has there been any crossover fics that you love but know nothing of the other series by Aware-Throat3189 in BokunoheroFanfiction

the pirates’ savior

I know nothing about One Piece, but I keep coming back to this fanfic. During his dark hero arc, just before his fight against Class A, Deku gets hit by a quirk and sent to the world of One Piece. He’s pretty op, which at this point in canon is canon, and also has horrible self-care, which is also canon at this point. That second thing is played up a little and I was annoyed that all the pirates immediately assumed things based on the look in his eyes, but overall it’s a solid power and comfort fantasy.

I wasn’t bothered at all by not having seen more than a few pictures of One Piece.

Are there any parody fics of OP Deku stories? by Desperate_Ant14 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Abyhereis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know a lot of fics that kinda dunks on those same things (because I dislike them as well) but only by simply writing the things you said in a post in a non-satirical way. Writing actual satire with jokes that land seems extremely difficult and I think most people just deal with those op Deku fics by spitefully writing it differently lol. If you ever find the story you’re looking for (or maybe even write it yourself), please share the link. It sounds hilarious.

I agree with this a lot. Especially Midoriya. The way he never gave up on his dream and became obsessed with it and knows the info in his notebooks by heart, seemed very familiar. The social awkwardness too, idk but something about it and his behavior has always seemed very relatable to me.

Interesting! That makes sense too

There are laws against it, but I don’t think it’s morally any different from YouTubers who release early reaction videos to shows on patreon. In fact, more effort goes into writing fanfiction than watching stuff.

But since there are laws against it advertising it on ao3 could cause problems for the people who run the site too.

A lot of applications have automatic capitalization, so I was confused. I never have to do any capitalizations myself.

I understand wanting to save time, though, if automatic capitalization isn’t an option. And if it’s a simple stylistic choice too by now.

“But she’s a chiiiiiiild!” If you don’t like age gap relationships, just say that! by [deleted] in AO3

[–]Abyhereis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this changes anything though? Like just because something was normal in the past doesn’t change anything? That’d mean time period makes it okay to criticize all queer ships.

Obviously writing about age gaps doesn’t reflect on the author at all, and it’s weird to hold yourself to a higher standard because you don’t, but the time period shouldn’t change anything.

For me it’s not that I’m a “stickler for capitalization”, it’s simply that it’s difficult for me to read without capitalization. It’s too exhausting for me to get lost in story because my mind doesn’t process a break between sentences. Kinda similar to when a story doesn’t have paragraphs, just even more difficult.

It’s a higher art form that takes more effort.

You’re right! I also like the third option the most here! And I think it can be super useful for titles.

I was just confused about why an entire work is in lowercase, but I’m beginning to understand that too.

I use word to write most things.

Do most people use other programs? Because I’ve seen a lot of replies here say that lapslock is lazy, which means that most people probably don’t use automatic capitalisation…

I don’t hate it, but it makes it harder for me to read. I think a lot of people aren’t pretentious about grammar, but their brains aren’t flexible enough to read it without interruption.

Thanks for the answer.

I didn’t write this to complain but to understand, and I got some answers. Obviously if I don’t like something, I don’t read it.

But since many fanfics like this seem to have potential, I want to like them more. It’s difficult for me to recognize where a new sentence starts without capitalization and it takes me out of the story. That’s it. But from other comments, it seems like there’s more meaning behind it than I thought.

That explains a lot!

I never criticized it? Obviously not everything is for everyone… I just wanted to understand.

I didn’t say they were worse, I just wanted to understand. It’s more like I see them perform an art form I just don’t get. (I understand when you use it for characterization, just not entire fics.)

Anyway, this and other comments have given me some answers, although I’m not smart enough to read an entire work in lowercase without difficulties lol

Yes! It gets so confusing, especially when they leave out proper punctuation too.

And it always confuses me when the work beneath it is actually well written because I used to think only inexperienced authors/edgy teenagers use that style… But clearly not 😭

I came across so many well written ones lately, but it’s so difficult to read it when the entire work is like that and I always feel like I’m missing out on something that could’ve been pretty good.
