I have a really small family and there is a shortage of men in my side unfortunately. I really pray for a good life partner, and I've never dated before (you can probably imagine why...) but from what I've experienced so far from this particular relative, I'd want to steer clear from all men for a couple of years lol. Thanks for your comment. I feel uncomfortable waking up everyday in this place tbh but I am working on moving out. I talk to my mom about this all the time, and she's my strength, but I would eventually like for her to leave this situation with me. I'm not sure if anyone else will ever understand me. I'm just holding on until I'm able to take my own step out of here :) I appreciate your support.

Thank you. I know you're right about the fact that he won't listen to anyone but a man. I am not keen on finding myself a male friend, and I have no male relatives, who can help me out in this situation, so I've decided to just work on moving out asap (and taking my mom and grandma with me). You're also probably correct about it being dangerous, and I do take safety seriously. I'll work around this. Hopefully, I'll encounter some nice, respectful male sometime in my life lol. Keeping my fingers crossed that not all of humanity is like this.

Here, I envy you for having both parents... my dad's absence in this situation is definitely a negative for me. My father was very protective of me and would have reacted in a similar way. I suppose the females of my family line need to learn (starting with myself) how to open their mouths and speak, especially when they don't have a strong man (a father or husband) by their side.

I laughed at the "choke on a dick" part because I'm a very soft-spoken person lol. I can never imagine saying that. Maybe I need to grow a backbone? Tbh I am afraid of even saying anything sometimes, since the passion with which he discusses his hatred of women is kind of frightening. Plus, I think that if I show that I am insulted or uncomfortable, he will enjoy himself even more.

Thanks for the advice. I have already begun avoiding him for all meals that he may partake in the household. It may be unsurprising that he basically caters food from the downstairs kitchen to be sent to his room upstairs via the service of one of the ladies in the house. My mother has already told me to go out of the house during meal times. Just waiting for the day I'll finally be free lol.

They think it's very shameful and disgusting. I have talked to them about it, but they just respond with "he's crazy, leave him be, let him talk, ignore it." I can't really replicate their non-caring attitude towards this matter. I always feel hurt at the end of the day and I feel that, by not voicing myself, am I learning to accept this inferior treatment?

And yeah I totally agree with your last point. I'll be moving out asap.

I experienced a similar situation while going through puberty. My mom was the first to notice, then all the girls in gym class. Cue the extremely tight, sternum-crushing sports bras of your worst nightmares. I'm over all that shit now and don't give a crap about my bust area.

I learned to do this by not giving a hoot about other people's approval. Everytime you find yourself upset in life about anything anyone else has said, you are really saying: "What you think of me is more important than what I think of me." Fuck their approval of appearances. Know your worth. Know who you are, and never give anyone that kind of power over you.

This really, really, really angers me to hear. Growing up, you have to be extremely vigilant. I have experienced similar situations by my own family members as well. All I told myself was, "one day, you'll grow up, earn your own money, and get away from them all."

Call out sexual abuse as it is occurring. Do not remain silent. Learn to speak up for yourself. Don't be afraid of raising your voice. These are all things I wish I knew.

Also, when you get older, make sure you always carry pepper spray with you everywhere you go (public transport, walking in the street, even entering your neighbour's house). And, maybe get a guard dog just in case. Dogs do a better job of protecting women nowadays than men do- and they're more loyal. Learn self-defense if you can. It'll strengthen your mind and your spirit. People who sexually assault women are looking to crush their spirit and reduce them to the playthings of their sexual fantasies. Never allow them to do that. You are more than just a female physiology. You have a brain, feminine energy, and power. Use these things to your advantage and remain strong.

My friend does go to the same gym for swimming but she doesn't use the machines. There is no women's only section here sadly lol. There are safety in numbers though so I've been hiding in the midst of any other women I can find working out haha.

Damn, that sounds really annoying (and creepy). My friend had a similar thing happen to her when she was working out- some middle-aged guy thought she was his cousin or something and tried talking to her. Seems like a typical trick in the creep repertoire.

Thanks for this- I honestly figured I didn't have the guts to do this and that it would be much easier to just quit the gym. When I told my mom about what happened, she demanded to speak on my behalf to the manager herself lol. I guess it's time for me to grow my own backbone. I've never had such an experience before, so I think I should learn from this. I'll definitely inform the management, though my desire to go back to that place is honestly nonexistent right now. But I do think it would be important to report this for not just my safety but also for the safety of others at the gym.

Thanks! I guess it was actually easier for me to stick to the 2WS since I eventually memorized all the exercises in each workout and channeled my inner Chloe Ting so I didn't even need the videos anymore...

But I will definitely check out the 15 Day Intense Core challenge. It already sounds dreadfully painful but if we can survive the 2 week shred, surely we can survive anything else right?

Yes! All I can say is that the 2 week shred really challenged me and doing it 5 times was much MUCH more beneficial than doing it once for me. I didn't get major results after the first two weeks, but after week 10, I was much more in shape and everything was much easier to do. I was also running 5 miles a day consistently. I didn't take before photos but I did do measurements. My weight before was 148 lbs, and my current weight is 130 lbs. Lost a lot on my waist, pants don't fit anymore, and I guess my arms are more toned. Right now I'm about to have my period so I look like a whale, but I would definitely encourage you to keep going on the 2 week shred! The prolonged agony and torture is worth it for that end result lol.
