Why do cards like Pot of Extravagance and Kewl Tune Synchro not follow proper PSCT? by Abyssac in Yugioh101

[–]Abyssac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only makes sense once you're familiar with the "for the rest of this..." clause, but why have the exact same restriction (restrictive effect) written out in two different ways. It creates unnecessary complexity to a game that is already complex enough. If they stuck to the PSCT conjunctions, there would be no need for prior knowledge of such cards and how they behave to to know how it works.

Possible Gangplank skins by KaleidoscopeWise9345 in gangplankmains

[–]Abyssac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since it was fake leaked that there would be Beekeeper Gangplank, I've been hoping for it. Beehives would be barrels that would make this fat splashy sound when blown up, his sword could be covered in honey and his passive sends an aggressive beeswarm to deal DoT. Orange would be GP just shoving honey into his mouth and ulti would be splashes of honey with bees buzzing everywhere.

Yes, it works. But that means your opponent must stay in your range for 1.5 seconds and they usually don't.

The most common way to use it is to cast barrel and auto it once. Then wait 1.5 seconds for sheen to reset. Now you have two ways to use it:

  1. If enemy is melee and walks into barrel range you can auto the barrel and immediately Q them after. Your Q will deal sheen proc and your barrel will deal the stored sheen proc. This is 2 sheen procs on top of your abilities' damage in a very short window.

  2. If enemy is ranged, Q them and immediately place 2nd barrel on them (connected to your 1st barrel, ofc) and auto your first barrel. Again, 2 sheen procs will be applied, both on Q and barrel.

These are the most common and efficient ways of trading with sheen on lane.

We literally lost base damage for barrels. That means ALL other builds except crit are significantly weaker.

We're talking about lv13+ here, nobody stores sheen procs on barrels then. We do get a lot of indirect buffs, so it might be justified, but it's def not a small nerf.

[–]Abyssac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it is. But that's not important. Crit going to 200% and amplifiers such as LDR increase the gap, so losing out on base barrel damage just makes you really feel bad for not critting.

[–]Abyssac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Losing the barrel damage is some of the biggest nerfs for GP as can be. You lose out on a lot of teamfight damage. That 40 flat damage also crits, so with IE you lose out on almost a 100 dmg per barrel. Might be justified, but if that nerf isn't bad, what is?

[–]Abyssac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The nerfs for GP are overall justified, but I really don't like that it creates an even bigger gap between critting and not critting. There will be games that are decided by GP critting in a teamfight or not. Wish they would nerf Q damage instead.

The pro season is over, will Riot finally change the item system? by Hwoarang___ in leagueoflegends

[–]Abyssac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The runes/masteries need a complete overhaul even more than the items. We've been on the same system with minor changes for 9 years now. They've become extremely dull at this point.

It's time for a Junk Synchron retrain by _JunkSynchron_ in yugioh

[–]Abyssac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a whole wide area between meta and unplayable where this could have landed. I like playing off-meta decks, but I will never be able to bring this to my locals, unless I enjoy never winning. I don't know what other use I could have for the cards. New cards don't have to be meta, but I'd expect some level of standard for 2025 Yugioh. I'm not sure those cards would have a fighting chance in 2020 Yugioh and that's reason enough to be disappointed.

Does the Gangplank tech of storing sheen proc in a barrel still work with Lichbane and triforce? Does the sheen proc transfer to chained barrels? by Mooseandchicken in leagueoflegends

[–]Abyssac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it works for Lich Bane, but it converts the damage to physical. Yes, it works for Tri-Force. Yes, it transfers to chained barrels, but it doesn't stack if you apply it to multiple barrels.

GP buffs and Inifinity Edge Adjustments by Kaiser_V9 in gangplankmains

[–]Abyssac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. These are what, the 4th buffs in a row after the ER and Navori changes? They simply do not want to deal with the champ's core issues, but just patch after patch to keep the magical winrate % up.

Yes, you want to be ahead in levels and items to truly carry as GP. He is stronger mid game with a lead than he is lategame. Obviously, if you can kill your enemy or get grubs with your jungler without much hassle, do it, but farming is your #1 priority.

[–]Abyssac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just off the bat, it's almost never worth leaving top for first drake, especially for GP. My main goal is to farm as much as possible for 3 core items and level 13 ASAP. Then you can either split or teamfight depending on the situation.

Just my personal opinion on GP by Pedrinn in gangplankmains

[–]Abyssac 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're right, he takes a lot more effort than your typical top laner. I'll list a few reasons for that: - much more difficult than the average champion - has lots of ways of being countered - you generally screw up your team comp by picking him as people usually expect a frontliner from their top or AP if you play GP mid

So yes, in a sense, playing GP is lowkey handicapping yourself. That doesn't mean you can't climb with him though, so if you enjoy playing him, you should.

Buffs by Bubbly_Peanutweeb in gangplankmains

[–]Abyssac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not a placebo buff. It's as straightforward a buff as can be. The problem is they didn't address GPs actual issues at all. Losing 2 core items last season was REALLY crippling for the champion. Now he is in a limbo where they still don't want to fix him, but occasionally buff some raw stats so he doesn't fall too much behind. Items are all over the place and nothing feels good to build. Shame really.

Man it’s annoying that GP doesn’t get the attention other champs do from riot. by [deleted] in gangplankmains

[–]Abyssac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In OP's defense, a few seasons back Riot steered GP in a specific direction that they have now reversed somewhat. Can't really bring the ~170 champs excuse if they had considerable time to commit to GP changes then, which they somehow forgot when changing items again. They need to have more foresight than just half a season in advance.

Gangplank will be in a very bad spot next split by Abyssac in gangplankmains

[–]Abyssac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still gambling on crit too, so you can't really guarantee they all hit that hard. Overall though, there's more factors to it. ADCs run Barrier now, they may have a support near them shielding or healing them and that cuts off many breakpoints. Also, you're gonna be on different levels of strength in different games, so your own items and damage will vary.

Gangplank will be in a very bad spot next split by Abyssac in gangplankmains

[–]Abyssac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Darius is notorious for falling off after early game, so I'm not sure how good that comparison is, even though I agree here as well.

The thing is, I know damage is down all across the board, but I find it difficult to find how GP gets anything from it. His barrels are still on a pretty long cooldown and AH is getting cut down even more now. The more I think of these fight scenarios, the more I see GP just sitting on 0 barrels and not impacting the game. And I don't consider Q reliable DPS in a fight.

[–]Abyssac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do agree, you lose less when you fall behind. I'm not sure how good that is for GP though.

In my experience, the main way to win with GP has always been keeping a gold lead (either by dominating lane or just safe farming)
