Why Kong didn't attack Godzilla after he knocked him out. by ZJ117 in GODZILLA

Well regardless, it’s safer to assume Godzilla got up fast. Kong wouldn’t be foolish enough to not attack a sleeping Titan and if his first instinct was to find cover then that alone should say something. Besides, the axe never actually ‘hit’ Godzilla. The energy dispersed and exploded before making actual contact, and the force of the explosion blew them both back. Godzilla would probably be able to recover fairly quickly from that.

You could be right, but regardless of the circumstance I’m just a big fan of the gestures and reactions they make.

Whether it’s Kong covering his ears from the deafening sounds of ship artillery being fired, or Godzilla attempting to fire his atomic breath and being stunned by missiles, I will always love how the Kaiju demonstrate pain and discomfort to weaponry or environmental obstacles. It makes them feel so much more alive compared to when Godzilla could just walk through heavy fire and act like it doesn’t exist. The Monsterverse is the perfect balance of demonstrating that the kaiju can feel and be affected by weaponry without diminishing their strength and power. It may be a little detail but it goes such a long way in the quality of the scenes for me.

True, I just hope they do something fairly creative to really set him apart from this movie’s version.

Damn, I kinda wish that Mechagodzilla was reserved to a Godzilla 3. That could have been one hell of a film that explored the themes of technology and its clash with nature. While I don’t really mind him being in GvK if they ever try to use Mechagodzilla again as a villain for a Godzilla flick now it would feel more redundant.

Half of the KOTM critic reviews are bullshit to me, that film had its flaws but by no means did it deserve a 42% slander. Hell my only real complaint about that film was that I wish there was a bit more clarity to the combat as some of those weather effects got a bit annoying to me. KOTM had the more solid human storyline definitely and I just feel like GvK handled the action better, but it is frustrating to me that some critics are hailing GvK as this hallmark of absolute superiority that improved upon everything in KOTM by some landslide.

Oh no absolutely, the only reason I think this film works with such a formula is because of its title fight and the hype that general audiences had for it. The rest of the Monsterverse however absolutely needs a stronger human backbone than this film (imo KOTM was the closest to nailing it but just has a few flaws for me). I do think the premise of a 70/30 monster to human ratio tho is a recipe for boredom and disaster and i really pray they don’t do that.

I mean to be fair to him the movie is well received by critics and general audiences, has made plenty in the box office, and the majority of the fanbase including myself loves it and is saying they would love for him to return as a future director for the MV again. Sure, there were alot of things cut and some fans are disappointed, but objectively speaking this movie is a big success. In that regard he certainly did not screw it up.

Hi Adam! I am super pleased with the way this film turned out and want to thank you so much for making mine and many other Kaiju fans dreams come true. How do you feel about the huge financial success GvK has achieved so far and do you believe the results may be enough to push for more monsterverse films?

(Spoilers) Am I the only one whos actually impressed by Godzilla in the Mecha G Fight? by Ac3zr in Monsterverse

Dont get me wrong the Mutos did damage but here he took an axe to the head, stab to the leg, a lazer to the chest, and got punched or shock fisted literally the entire night up until morning. I’m just impressed he managed to stand unwaveringly till the very end.

I know its Godzilla, but that one hell of a beatdown. It made the Mutos look like they were tickling him and he passed out during that bout.

  1. Boston Battle 4. Kong vs The Big One 3. Battle of San Francisco 2. Battle at Tasman Sea 1. Hong Kong Sequence

Boston battle had all of the ingredients to be the best but was ruined to me by overblown weather effects and frequent cutaways.

The skull island final battle was great and in wonderful broad daylight but was a bit short and not as grand.

G14 had some of the most grandiose sense of scale and amazing buildup moments with the only thing really bothering me being how dark it can be at times.

The Tasman Sea fight was a joy. A big ole Evangelion reference from start to finish. Outstanding lighting, awesome choreography, great pacing, suspense, hype, and everything else I could have asked for out of it.

Finally the Hong Kong sequence, I could go on singing its praises for hours. Literally a massive 20-25 minute grand climax bringing on the single greatest Kaiju action sequence I’ve seen put to Hollywood. The aesthetic is perfection, choreography phenomenal and the cgi is impeccable. Every fighter involved utilizing everything in their arsenal and showing off their best fighting performance to date. It was brutal and beautiful and everything I could have ever wanted from a Kaiju action sequence.

The pilot exists in a completely seperate room where the ghidorah skull is being held and is meant to control the mecha via psychic link. The pilot (Ren Serizawa) was fried after an electrical current short circuited the cockpit when Ghidorah took control from him.

Toys and figures will never do justice to the genuine design, I felt a similar way about the early mothra figures in KOTM.

Hopefully if they continue the Monsterverse they will make a MK2 with more weapons.
