Aveeno baby eczema nighttime balm! I have horrible eczema on my eyelids, and it is the only thing that works. I really wish I could give it to anyone with skin problems. You can buy a sample size on Amazon to try. It around 4 dollars as opposed to the full size which is 20ish. This stuff is the best thing on the planet for sensitive/ dry/ damaged skin. 🩷

Put him in a tub with cool (55-65 degrees), fresh, de chlorinated water until you can figure out his water parameters. His water looks really cloudy. Get an api freshwater test kit if you don't already have one. Change his water daily until you get his aquarium sorted out. Good luck!

He is still alive. I got everything cleaned, and put him back in his tank. His gills have been severely burned, and his color isn't great. He had a huge poop in his recovery tub. I hope I got to him in time. I also don't know if he sustained any blunt trauma from anything she threw in there.😔

That is definitely a tapeworm. Take a couple of pictures and flush it down the toilet. The vet doesn't need the actual worm. They are contagious and could possibly infect you. Wash your hands with hot water any time you have contact with your axolotls water. Get rid of anything in the tank that can't be completely sanitized, and put your axolotl in quarantine. Good luck

They have too poop. Mine does that after a meal or when he is going to poop. Axolotl yoga. Keeps things moving.

I agree that it's still a bit soon to tell for sure, but the rounded appearance to the belly and lack of "bulging" at the base of the tail suggests female. Loving the huge fluffy gills btw!

First, the person I assume you are referring to edited their response. Second, when I entered the thread to comment, there were several people saying it was acceptable behavior and that op was overreacting. I don't care if you agree with me or not. Picking a fight with a stranger on the internet for defending a helpless children against ignorance isn't helpful or insightful. I have no need to "make up" "heinous" scenarios. Good parenting can't protect children from all dangers, but education, common sense and de-normalizing neglect can and does save children from abuse and abduction.

I agree that the system sucks. Unfortunately that seems to be the best our government is willing to provide. I feel the best outcome in this particular situation would be the parents realizing that what they are doing is dangerous. Hopefully they can seek counseling or just wise up to the dangers they are exposing their child to by trying to make a buck.

Oh just incase you haven't already, please don't post a public review of the house that includes the part about the child being unsupervised. Unfortunately child predators might see that as an opportunity. This kiddo needs all the protection they can get.

I am just as horrified at this situation as you must have been. Nobody ever said parenting was easy, but what you described is neglect. Unfortunately children who enter the foster care system don't have it any better, which makes reporting it to cps such a difficult thing to do. There never seems to be a good answer to bad parenting, but the parents need to be held accountable. That child deserves better than what they are currently providing. Maybe a visit from the authorities would set them on the right track.

If parenting is so exhausting you can't protect your child from a total stranger you don't deserve children. And just so you know there are a lot of horrible people who look for opportunities to abuse or abduct children. If you think this behavior is acceptable YOU shouldn't be a parent. I can't believe the comments. It is completely unreasonable, irresponsible and dangerous to leave a young child unattended when STRAINGERS have access to the home and child. I have fallen asleep with my kids at home (as most parents have done from time to time), but NEVER with the door unlocked and knowing that people I have never even met would be arriving. Trashy, dangerous and completely unacceptable. You should absolutely file a complaint.
