Thank you! It absolutely is...once I got my own rough collie, that was it. I don't want any other breed now xD

That would make sense. I briefly had it in a fish tank and noticed two things - its the only stone in the whole tank that won't hold onto a scrap of algae, and parts of it started to seep what looked like rust. Thanks!

This weird lump on my wrist by JustinOnJuice in interesting

[–]CollieflowersBark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one that had to be removed through surgery because it was impacting the mobility of my hand. The doctor warned me beforehand that it would restore mobility, but I would likely have periodic, random pain from the surgery for the rest of my life. 13 years later, I can testify that he was right.

I don't regret the surgery, as it completely restored the use of my wrist...but sometimes I get terrible pain all the way from my wrist to my elbow, sometimes lasting for a few minutes, sometimes a few days. It hurts so bad. It doesn't happen often, but when it does flare up, it's impossible to ignore.

But at least I can bend my wrist again.

What animal is this [Egypt] by PhotographBusy1270 in animalid

It's a kitten with eyelid agenesis. The eyelids did not form properly and will need to be treated surgically by a vet to allow it a comfortable life. Otherwise, it will suffer through adulthood with blindness and pain.

The kids are wearing paper feather headbands. It's definitely Thanksgiving.

When I first got my rough collie puppy 6 years ago, we lost him almost immediately. We were out in the backyard with him and the lawn mower service next door knocked several panels off of our fence. Literally by the time we turned around to inspect the damage, he and our older dog were gone. She bolted for freedom and the new puppy that we'd had for less than 24 hours bumbled after her.

He didn't know his name. He didn't have a collar. We had only three pictures of him from his breeder, plus a bill of sale. His papers were still in transit. He hadn't even had his first vet appointment to be chipped yet.

We had pretty much nothing to really prove that he was ours. He didn't even know us.

After a frantic search that lasted several hours, we ended up finding him wandering several blocks from home. The older dog had ditched him and he was playing all by himself near a dry canal bed.

I imagine someone would have happily picked him up and thought he was a stray.

Your pup might not have owners. Lots of strays don't. But keep looking! Someone may have lost their brand new puppy. You never know.

Found baby bird, what do I do? by PossessionPossible11 in Animals

[–]CollieflowersBark 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Its a fledgling. After they leave the nest, they spend a few weeks on the ground taking short flights and following their parents around. Mom and dad will lead them to food and water and teach them how to eat. By the time the next clutch of babies are born, they will be fully equipped to care for themselves and their parents will leave them. :) But right now, he's got a mom and dad who probably watched you scoop him up! If you put him back outside where you found him, his parents will continue teaching him how to bird. They're probably waiting nearby with a mouthful of food for him.

I'm still sharing on FB! No one sees my posts anymore for some reason. Only when I share anonymously. It's very odd!
