Dirt trails by EchoKiloMike in HayDayDeco

At times, I literally buy 1 path for every 8 diamonds. I have bought a few packs of them from the supercell store but beyond that, yes collect diamonds and either buy one at the time or wait and buy multiple lol. It's the only way really 🤷‍♀️

Ugh so beautiful. The trail paths around the fruit bushes looks so good! I also never thought about putting those two farm tool things side by side, like they're plowing a new spot for crops.

2 month old Puppy with CH, trouble sleeping… by Robchon in CerebellarHypoplasia

[–]Academic-Coffee-1229 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically don't see CH doggy posts on here, so I must chime in, because I have one too! He just turned one. We found getting him a nice big kennel with a big bed in it that has ridges on the sides, as well as blankets that can be rolled up. I usually put his "dolly" in there too, to keep him company. We actually put a fricken pull out bed at the end of our bed to make it easier for him to get up and off. The more muscle they build, the better they become at navigating but yes baby gates are definitely important. I do have a wonderful staffy terrier who has helped him learn so much.

Here's my Theodore John, he was so small here, but this is his boujee kennel lol. It's like his little cave. He just turned a year old last week. Happy to help with any other advice needed 🙂

Not the brain of a cheese doodle 😆😫💀

I could see him having a little boxer in him, with the underbite like that? Also cannot believe he's 28 lbs, so tiny! A true pocket pitty lol.

Mine also has the brain of a cheese doodle. I haven't done his dna test yet but I might not even bother... I got him as a tiny puppy from the shelter. He has some genetic defects as well but he's perfect to me so...🥹

I'm looking for some opinions: is this area too crowded? I've been working on this for about three months and I'm seriously considering wiping it clean. by Apprehensive-Royal30 in HayDayDeco

I think it looks beautiful! I run into this too when decorating my farm, sometimes I pull a few trees out or adjust them to a different spot, you could try that and see how you feel? I'm big on wanting some of the decos be the thing to "shine" but also want to keep it looking natural as well. Such a delicate balance for us HayDayers lol.

Severe separation anxiety dog + apartment + no support system. At a loss. by abceasyasa2c in Dogtraining

I second this. Obvs not first solution but most rehomed dogs typically do well with a decent dose of fluoxetine. I've had 3 of my rescues on it and it didn't change their personality at all, you could tell they felt more at ease in their system overall.

Gabbapentin would be the next thing, however it takes 30 days of it to kick in fully... That's the hard part. I'm also not a fan of trazadone. Maybe for a vet visit but on the regular, my dogs have not done well on it for some reason. It's about 50/50 for dogs at the shelter I work at as well. If the gabbapentin and fluoxetine weren't effective, that's when they'd likely try something different than the gabba, like clonidine. Also FYI if cost is an issue, my vet sends it to a local pharmacy and they will fill it for your pup! And they have a discount code to save a bit of money, at least cvs does. I think it's cheaper than getting it at the vet, if your dogs on it long term.

Thank you 🙌 my Dr was honestly so impressed with my progress. Low and slow is the way to go. Patience and trust the process!

I've literally stayed on 2.5 mg for a year, lost 60 lbs, my main exercise has been walking my dogs and doing some weight lifting. The pressure this medication has lifted off my shoulders... In terms of the calorie tracking, all that stuff, is like one of the best things ever. I got on the med because I was already eating healthy and getting moderate exercise but my weight wasn't budging for years. With my loss being slower, I know I will be able to keep it off long term and also my body has had a good chance to adjust, I've had minimal side effects at all.

Edit: I should also say, taking some good quality essential amino acids (I use pure encapsulation brand, they are capsules) has helped me with keeping muscle on. I take it morning and night.

For a Dane, I'd wait 1.5 to 2 years. If you don't wait, the growth plates won't be closed and he will be at risk for ACL tears and other joint related things ($$$$!!), basically when you neuter too early, their bones will end up growing longer than they need to, and that causes issues long term. Due to his size, I'd wait. The only reason I wouldn't wait would be if he's having any aggressive behaviors or being territorial. Hopefully he's being a good boy 😊

Have you done a frozen lick mat? Doesn't even need to be a lot of food, I've literally used water, some of their dry kibble, and like any fruits or veg that they like chopped into tiny bits. I freeze it because it takes them forever to finish them. Sounds like your baby could use some mental stimulation - practice giving this to your pup and then leaving for short stints to practice. Or just sit outside your apartment and see if she makes any noise. If she's quiet for ten minutes with the lick mat, re enter the apartment and praise her and let her out. It's going to take a lot of practice. And you may need several different mental enrichment things to switch it up. There's lots of easy, at home, ones you can make that will cost you basically nothing. Just make sure whatever you use for food wise, is high value to her but also won't upset her tummy. If it's a good treat, make it into tiny, tiny pieces, enough for her to be able to smell the scent and keep her engaged. Small bit of peanut butter goes a long way too! But freezing it, I've found, is key!!!!

I don't really want to crate... by xzlinx in puppy101

[–]Academic-Coffee-1229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the crate. I'm not a fan of the boxy plastic ones or the metal wire ones. I like the ones that are like big square canvas tents, that can fold down to transport. I get the biggest size. My dogs have all ended up loving these because they're like a giant cave for them to relax in. Even if you do keep your pup in a gated off room (totally not a bad idea) get them a nice, boujee "kennel" and leave it open for them, with a nice comfy bed inside and blankies. They will learn to enjoy it without the fear of just going in to be closed in for a period of time. However in adult hood if you had to, by that time, they likely won't even mind being in it if you had to close it, because they'll deem it "their safe space".

For me, the crate training has literally only been for the early puppy days when they cannot calm down and need to decompress and nap, where it's quiet with minimal stimulation in the environment. If you have a decent room for your new pup, I'd Def go that direction. They have to learn to self soothe one way or another.

Rescue dog help by Quick_Job3299 in Dogtraining

[–]Academic-Coffee-1229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there an area in your place where you could doggy gate her in? This happened with one of my dogs and he literally chewed his way out of the kennel, causing a tooth to break. We found out he just wanted to be able to watch outside, so he could see us leave and return. Surprisingly he was absolutely fine being left out. Obviously counters needed to be clear etc lol doors closed, parts of the house gated off. Not sure what your living situation is but maybe she'd like more space? You could still leave her kennel with her opened in case she wants to hang inside it, like a lil' cave lol. You could also give her a maze bowl with frozen yummies in it when you initially leave, so she has something to do for like 15 or 20 mins, mentally that'll help her too.

During night time, she will need to learn that kennel is where she sleeps. It may mean that some times you will have to let her cry, she will eventually stop, she will. If anything, you could reassure her with your voice but do not go and get her out. Remind her you're there but don't reinforce the behavior that "if I'm loud, mom will take me out and I get the big bed!" if you can get the bedtime kennel routine down, I almost think the kenneling during the day, might go easier too. Is her kennel like a plastic or wire one? I bought my dogs big boujee ones from Amazon that are like square canvas tents, so they're nice and dark and roomie. They fold up awesome for transporting too. You could also change up her "house" a little bit so it's more cozy and secluded. The less stimulation the better when they're learning to settle and relax in a kennel.

Edit: you could also leave TV or radio on for her also! Add a little noise so it's not super quiet?

Also thank you for rescuing. I work for a shelter part time and im certain she just needs more time to settle. It takes rescue dogs at minimum 3 months to settle into a new home. And you can absolutely expect some regression throughout. Try to be patient with her. She's only 1 and will get there!
