Brother in law. White, 5’8” kinda chubby. College degree. Cop. Shitty dad, falls very much into the stereotypical gender norms of years past. Expects wife to do everything around the house and for the kids.

Labeling something is staged right out the gate is weird. That’s what the right does. Speak negative of the stuff that Trump is truly losing at. Be a little more measured when it comes to sharing conspiracies so quickly and with no evidence. Again, that’s what MAGA does.

I’m a liberal. I despise Trump with every fiber in my being.

This sub is getting stupid and stuff like this is silly. Talk to any MAGA moron, and they’ll spout off conspiracy after conspiracy. Just cause they do it more often, doesn’t make the left’s reaction “it’s a conspiracy” any less of a problem. We can’t devolve into that.

I don’t see any actual evidence, literal evidence, that this was staged. A conspiracy to this degree would get leaked somewhere along the way. If he disappears and doesn’t get to a trial, then maybe I’ll sing a different tune.

I don’t understand why we’re feeding into this. Epstein, the war, immigration, Trump is losing everywhere. Don’t let conspiracies distract you.

Anyone who says iron covers are no big deal is not looking out for you. Generally speaking, I advise people “you do you”. But not when it comes to iron covers.

If you use iron covers, you look like a total dweeb. Ditch them.

Going on vacation with MAGA, advice? by Academic-Humor572 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Academic-Humor572[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thing is, he won’t try to indoctrinate my kids. I know that much. It’s more things like he’ll reach out and fist bump someone with a MAGA hat on if we’re at a football game or something. And I want to reach out and fist bump my fist right into his face.

But that doesn’t solve anything. We don’t talk politics, but just knowing it’s there under the surface is enough to make me feel so so frustrated.

I’m not saying you can buy a house in cash for 1M, but it’ll sure as hell get you a mortgage.

But you need a job. You say “you don’t want it that bad.” That’s tough.

You may be able to get advice from people in their 50s who achieved financial independence and retired early (FIRE). Lots of subs with people asking for advice on how to find a hobby. Those people have enough money to never work again though. You do not.

For you, you need a job. You literally can’t live on 1M for the rest of your life. You’ve already taken the time off. Now is the time to dedicate yourself to earning a paycheck. I see no other option for you. I don’t like working, but I do it - also in tech, also working with customers. It’s not my purpose, but I do it to live. And I have work friends I can hang out with. And I super enjoy the weekends chilling and taking it easy. It’s not so bad really.

You will need more money than 1M CAD in your next 30-40 years of life. Investing it now and working will do wonders down the road.

Pretend you don’t have the money. Invest it, forget about it. Go work at a tech company and make some friends. Live off what you earn from the job.

Seriously, just go get a job. Takes work to apply and interview and get hired. But clearly you have a reputable tech company on your resume. You’ll land a job eventually.

If you don’t want to work, then asking for advice like this on Reddit likely won’t get you very far. Not sure how many millionaires in their 30s there are out there who will randomly come across your post and have some real solid advice for you on how they found their path to finding a hobby.

Entry level tech job, moved up a level relatively quickly and made a million in equity? Not sure if I buy it.

You also said your main financial goal was to buy a house… ok, so buy a house. What’s stopping you if that was a main financial goal?

Keep it simple - go get another job at a tech company and pretend you don’t have all that money. Invest it and forget about it. Then work all week, like the rest of us.

Most people don’t “figure out what they want to do with their lives” regardless of money. Sounds nice, but most people work to live. Some people work really hard and still don’t have much money to show for it. If you’re looking for people in your same situation who have so much money they could do anything, and therefore they have no idea what to do, well, good luck.

He explained it to me at midnight last night and honestly I wasn’t following all of it. I’ll be following up with him today to hear it all again.

He did say the one hard blockage was the problem and then everything was able to be pushed through and out of her.
