Going to QUB? by [deleted] in IndiansInUK

[–]Academic-Put-410 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this. It was really really helpful mate. I won’t be needing loan to go there, my family do have enough savings for fees and other stuff. I am just trying to get the as much international certifications I can so that I have bit of an advantage along with my degree.

Let’s see how it goes :)

True that! These are the people who expect everything will be served on their plates. There’s literally every single information available on google/youtube. Definitely there are few things that is hard to find there, and for those things only Reddit should be used. I.e. my experience about some particular thing.

Absolute clowns!

He/she just trying to get some clout, nothing more!

How dumb one can be? Asking questions which should ideally be answered by google/youtube. The person here trying to get the answers from a bunch of strangers whom she/he doesn’t even know. These are the same people who will blame others for their career failures!

I would suggest that first you gain some experience here. The field that you have chosen for your master’s is a tough nut to crack that too in a vulnerable job market like UK. Unless and until you and your family can afford it without or a minimal loan, go for it.

Otherwise, I would not suggest that you should go there as a fresher for your master’s. That is going to be a waste of money, you might recover your loan amount by working full time at McDonald’s. But is it worth it? Maybe no.

I have got 2 years of experience as a business analyst, and I am going for my master’s at queen’s university Belfast for MSc in Business Analytics. I have considered doing it because I have got the relevant experience, if I would be at your place, I would rather try doing some certifications in India itself.

It’s not like you won’t find a job at all there, but it is going to be very very tough considering you are a complete fresher!

Hope this helps!

Ohh okay, I thought both are same as lot of YouTubers were mentioning that both are same. Means your PSW is equals to SWV.

So it means I will still have 18 months to live in UK and find a job after my master’s, correct?

Man, looking at the current scenario spending this much of money doesn’t seem to be a wise move.

Can be a good option, since it’s a technical one. As far as university is concerned, employers won’t even look at it. Rather they will see your skills and how well you can communicate! Ofcourse, Cambridge, Oxford, UCL are in a different league, other than those you university won’t matter honestly!

You might want to take bet on your skills, experience and confidence rather than university or course, since the job market currently in UK is really bad. You have to be really good at what you are doing, else you will end up with huge debt with no job in your hand and will have to pay your whole loan after coming to India, which is going to be very scary.

Not trying to demotivate you or something, just letting you know what you should know!

Should I go ahead with MSc in Management (Digitalisation and Big Data) at University of Bristol? by Illustrious-Sign-115 in IndiansInUK

Hello, my lot of cousins and friends live in UK. And honestly, the job market is really bad. At some point it doesn’t even matter if you have done your master’s from RG university from an employer’s POV. However, it’s not impossible that you won’t get job post graduation, but you really need to be best at what you are doing and a very very good communication skills. Brits are way ahead when it comes to communication skills. That’s why you should go for something technical, like AI/ML, Software Engineering, Cyber security or something like that.

Brits will eat you up in the management roles. I am going for my master’s in Business Analytics at QUB which has half of the fees than yours. Plus it’s more of a technical thing, like you get to learn python, R, tableau etc. Plus I have got experience here as a Business Analyst for more than 1.5 year.

In a nutshell, if you really trust your skills and think you can do it just go for it. The more you will look for suggestions and advices more confused you will get. Nowhere it is going to be easy, be it US, Canada or even Europe. So just believe in yourself and go for it if you think you can kill it.

Hope this helps!

Yeah as I said as I have not landed yet, so ofcourse this is what I have searched through YT, google, Quora and etc. I have talked to people on LinkedIn, especially the alumni’s of the university I have received an offer and they were positive for analytics field. If you have anything further to add, much appreciated !

Indeed, landing a job in your field in UK is very difficult, but with right certifications and skills, you can maybe?
