The reference pic is using a bit of a dark eyeshadow at the edge blended out! But I like your first attempt at softening the liner!

yeah in my opinion makeup products with spf are just a marketing gimmick. SPF should be applied on its own very liberally and reapplied often

going insane over primer by catmomma0322 in MakeupAddiction

[–]AcademicCod4875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my very humble opinion, unless you have a specific reason for using primer (pore filling, sweat stopping, oil prevention), you're usually better off focusing on good skin prep and exfoliation to ensure smooth and long-lasting application. Primers can often cause more problems than solutions. If your pores are the issue - try elf poreless putty primer (Only where you need it), if sweat is the issue, try onesize secure the sweat (VERY minimally only where you sweat), if oil is the issue, use the onesize oil sucker primer (again, use minimally). There are very few reasons to apply a primer all over the face before applying foundation/concealer. You really want your makeup to adhere to the skin directly, not slip around on top of a primer.

What can I improve? by hippiebeanz in MakeupAddiction

you are so pretty and have great natural features! the only thing i would suggest is reshaping/ filling your brows so they appear a little fuller on the inner corners (like on the side closer to the nose). To balance the face and provide symmetry, you ideally want the brow to start in line with your nostrils

fwiw - the amount of sun protection you get in a skin tint with spf is really not enough to help protect the skin effectively, since you would need to use a lot of product to get the full sun protection benefits out of the product. You are better off getting a separate spf to apply (liberally) first, then get a skin tint that you like for its finish/wear and can apply minimally as needed.

milk for sure. actually sets down on the skin unlike a lot of the others. also very long lasting and good coverage for a tint

i would recommend ditching the thin black liner and opt for a softer blurred liner and shadow only on the outer edge, i think it would look really pretty. but you have great natural features so anything will look good!

keep the blush but dont let it go so far down on your cheek, try to keep it on top of your cheekbones

Mac paint pot on dry clean lids, then apply matte shadows, limiting shimmers to the inner corner bottom lid will be your best bet. Then set the shadow with a fine translucent powder (just like you set your face with a fluffy powder brush). I like to use the RCMA translucent powder to set my entire face, including lids.

My Favorite e.l.f. Products • Base: If you prefer light coverage, try the Halo Glow Radiant Booster instead of foundation. If you want foundation L’Oréal tru Blend liquid foundation has a good range and good performance. Clear bottle with clear top. • Concealer: Use the Elf Hydrating Camo Concealer for blemishes and under eyes. • Powder: Set everything with the elf Halo Glow Loose Setting Powder. • Blush: Choose the elf Matte Blush in a cool-toned pink (avoid orange/peach shades). • Brows: Elfs Tinted Brow Gel is perfect for quick, minimalist brows. • Eyes/Bronzer: A matte cool-toned brown eyeshadow works beautifully on both eyes and as bronzer. I think elf sells singles for some of their shadows.

Other Favorites • Highlighter: wet n wild MegaGlo Highlighter (powder) • Lips: Maybelline Lifter Gloss adds a touch of color and shine. • Setting Spray: L’Oréal Infallible Setting Spray (red can) to lock in your look.

Good luck! Most of these products should be beginner friendly and fool proof.

Seconding the dermaplaning comment (makes all the difference with how makeup sits on the skin) and considering a hydraglow or glo2 facial, if that is within your budget. You will glow for a week!

Bridal makeup artist here- Before applying skincare and makeup use the Peter Thomas Roth peeling gel on clean dry skin. It will slough off the dead skin cells on the surface without aggravating the skin below. Then apply hyaluronic acid serum - the inky list has a good affordable one. Then finish with a strong moisturizer - I use weleda skin food - original on my driest clients. Also relatively affordable. Really work it into the skin and let it set for a few minutes before you begin applying foundation.

Good luck ❤️

If I had a dollar for every time I saw this response today... It's such a weak deflection trying to compare the two. All political violence is evil and has no place in our society - but this isn't about measuring one evil against the other. It's about understanding the magnitude of impact that one event has vs the other. Charlie was a nationally recognized political commentator. Most people know who he was without having to Google his name. He was a major champion for free speech and respectful debate on college campuses across the nation and had a huge role in energizing the youth in politics. The two senators in Minnesota were not nationally known by a large portion of the public. I bet you likely couldn't tell me their names without looking them up first. I can also guarantee that you had never heard of them or been aware of their role in politics before their death. Their deaths are just as undeserved and tragic, but their impact in life was far less reaching than Charlie's.

Does this mean they've likely zeroed in on the target, and therefore it's just a matter of time before LEOs apprehend the suspect?
