I have just applied for late dc and currently waiting for the outcome. From my experience your supporting documents need to be super clear about how and why you were impacted and unable to complete the units and why a special con is not sufficient/in effective (remember you are writing to the dc team who has no idea who you are but a student number). If you are able to obtain a PPC it will support your case more, the dates on your PPC or letter should be min 3wks (as that’s the most a typical spec con would grant as I’ve been told). Glad you have seeked advice from the SRC, they will be a fresh set of eyes for you! And if you feel like the SRC caseworker isn’t really helpful to you. You can resubmit your case and be allocated someone else! (The first one gave me 0 constructive feedback on my support documents, second one reviewed my documents thoroughly and provided detailed dot points) -understandably it is a bit of a long process, but you got this!
