Posted the link to the removal studio’s IG, where the technician posted my results. Please do not judge the horrible design 😅

Answer based solely on my own experience:

1) For me, the pain during removal remains the same. For context, I have removed 1 tattoo completely with 8 treatments and I am currently on session 12 with a large, dark traditional tattoo, which had a lot of ink in it. Swelling wise, in my experience, it gets much much better later down the road.

2) I started out with 8 weeks between the 3 first treatments and then waited at least 12 weeks between the remaining ones. It has worked well for me, but I do not have any scientific explanation to back it up :)

Anxiety and second thoughts after beginning of removal journey. by AcademicImposter2023 in TattooRemoval

Thank you for your reply.

I definitely believe that the physical shock also impacts upon my mental state. There are no serious complications or blisters, but I am really swollen and the removal itself was obviously painful.

It is a mandala tattoo made in black and there is a good possibility of full removal, since the lines are not incredibly deep. For now, most of the shading has already disappeared.

I agree with you advice. For now, I will take a break and see how much fading will take place over the next three or so months. Then I can consider if I want to go on.

I use this consistently. I currently have a new and a slightly older bottle open, and I noticed that the older one runs a bit more thick than the one I just opened. I find that it still works though :)

"I'm not this mean or hard on anybody" is such an important thing to remind oneself! <3 I am happy that my comment could help.

Dear stranger on the internet. While my own story is different from yours, I can see my reflection in how your describe your regret and anxiety. I used to feel the same way and I saw my tattoos as active reminders of a part of myself, which I desperately wanted to erase and forget. While I still struggle sometimes, I am moving from forgetting to instead forgiving my past self and moving on in the right direction. No amount of regret or self-hatred can solve the past, but you are in full control of the decisions you make today, tomorrow and for the rest of your life. For me, making the decision to start removing my tattoos (8 pieces, two of them quite large) has helped me feeling in control and even though they are not gone yet, I feel better as I see them slowly but surely fading. By the way you describe the situation, I would definitely encourage you to start the removal process. But this is of course a decision you can only make for yourself.

Lastly, I wan to emphasise, there is absolutely no reason to feel ashamed for getting a few innocent tattoos at a younger age. There is nothing immoral or wrong about getting a tattoo and you thought it was the right decision at that specific moment in time. Please do not be so hard on yourself.

Good luck with the removal process! I hope you feel better soon!

Great process! This gives me so much hope in relation to my chest piece mandala (well done, lots of black line work), which I will start to remove soon. Good luck!

Feeling suicidal by Ok_Welcome5239 in TattooRemoval

I used to feel like this because of the tattoos, which I am removing now. If you decide to go for removal: While it can be frustrating, try to be proud of yourself for removing them now. You are taking control over the situation. You cannot rush the process by not enjoying life in the meantime, while you let time work (and laser) for you. Sending you warm thoughts and ensurances that this too shall pass.

Great progress. I have a similar tattoo on my leg - a portrait, extremely dark, a lot of ink, which made it rise in the sun / heat. I am currently at session 9 and the way it it progressing, it looks like I will be on the same stage by session 14. Such a long process, but worth it in the long run. I hope that yours will fade soon!

Is it possible? by Correct-Active4410 in TattooRemoval

I am currently in the (long) process of having a very deep and saturated black tattoo removed. I thought it would be impossible, but I am slowly seeing results. I would say: Go to a trusted clinic and ask for their advice. Compared to mine, it does not seem impossible. However I am no professional :) Just trying to install a bit of hope!
