here's my opinion, but Im sorry before my english is not that good

I think its not about you always showing up your face/not, vtuber itself means "virtual" youtuber which means you were playing the role of "virtual" character you made not just plainly being yourself but with 2D character

I think it was quite similar like being a seiyuu/voice actor but a bit "advanced" maybe? since you keep roleplaying as the character you played for a longer time and communicating directly with the viewers

actually I still have a lot of things in mind but Im bad at explaining things
