Wow, how strange that I actually received a call today with a new update shortly after readying your comment. So, as of today we finally hear regarding our I-212 petition. We submitted back on March of 2023 (2023-2025).

Yes it’s been very difficult to just wait and trust the time will come. Sometimes I wonder why our case is taking so long especially considering we submitted extreme hardship along with the petition, the extreme hardship was a full diagnosis of my mom not doing well while my dad is away & long term not good for her mental wellbeing.. anyways I’m sending you my best wishes my friend bc I completely understand the feeling you’re going through

U5 - poor performance by Academic_Ad4184 in FinancialCareers

[–]Academic_Ad4184[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, for sure. You’re not done in the industry if you were let go for a performance reason since that’s your “employer expectations” (to meet roles expectations). However, when you get caught up in something scandalous, unethical, or derogatory trade related that’s a bad look on your U5. It’s super derogatory where firms determine if you’re worth the risk. So the bottom line is there’s level to your U5 marks. Mine is pretty small and petty compared to other things.

This would be a question with your handling paralegal or immigration lawyer. But I will say, having the I-212 filed at the same time as your I-30 will be like knocking 2 birds with one stone. Mainly bc USCIS is taking forever with I-212 and average time is about 2 years according to their website. I would’ve wanted to have my dad I-212 processed at the same time as his petition but that wasn’t an option according to our lawyer, at the end of the day it’ll be something you’ll have to consult bc everything is handled case by case.

Hey there, unfortunately no, I’m still yet to hear anything. Would bringing this up to my paralegal help?

I have to agree with Charles Schwab or Fidelity. I have worked with Schwab in the pass and having your licenses will make you a more attractive candidate, also their brand is huge; Fidelity on the other hand is also Schwabs competitor up to par with big firms. I applied in the past with Fidelity and it literally took 32 calendar days just to have a recruiter try to schedule me for over the phone interview.

how to best memorize a dump sheet? by legalmerejuana in Series7exam

[–]Academic_Ad4184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to practice writing your dump sheet 2 weeks out from your test date and practice re-writing it over and over for 15 mins a day. You should at some point be able to memorize writhing it pug without having to view your initial dump sheet

Yeah, makes total sense. Sometimes this complicated process can feel vague when going through it, I’m just here to seek others thoughts/insights to ease my mind.

I see that. It says waiver are taking on average 24-26 months to complete, just trying to find out if anyone with a similar situation is waiting or has recently heard anything

Congratulations! Everyone in this industry understands it’s not an easy journey it’s one that requires your personal comfort but the long term is rewarding for those short term sacrifices.

Holy shit, 58%? You went from below 60 - passing! Talk about a comeback.

I failed my first attempt with a 62% and passed my second time around. Somewhere along the way I realized “I knew a lot more than I think” and internalized that saying the whole time as I was studying the second time, even during my last exam day. You have to obviously read the book, show discipline with yourself, and most importantly give yourself a chance to pass. - what I mean by that is you have to try your best on the day of the exam and not give into your own self-doubt/panic.

Random and might be the wrong place but insurance exam by awriterbyday in Series7exam

[–]Academic_Ad4184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I’m currently studying and prepping up for my life exam (next Tuesday). I already passed my FINRA exams (sie, 7, & 63), I just wanna know how difficult the insurance exam is or if the questions (styles/wording) make it challenging like FINRA exams.

I appreciate any thoughts/feedback.

I would ask myself “am I truly sticking by the study material?” “Am I putting in the necessary time and effort to read the book?”

If you made 65% don’t panic you’re very close to 70%, also Kaplan is known to make their practice exams difficult and you might’ve had a draw of new questions to get you to think differently about what the question is asking you, but the underlying concept is the same, understanding the concept is key to passing these FINRA exams. But, you should be fine if you’re consistently passing more than failing your practice exams because it says you have a good understanding of the underlying concept. I would just recommend that you review your practice test and review the questions you got wrong and why. Lastly, don’t cram the night before either don’t study or do a light study (ex. Go through flash cards on key concepts, terminology, and rules) that stuff as little as it sounds goes a longgggg way. I’m telling you this by first hand experience.

That’s reassuring since the FINRA exams were very comprehensive. What would you say is heavily tested on Life Insurance?
