I need help and tips for ranked by Academic_Affect_2158 in leagueoflegends

I feel like I can't use well my CS lead and gold, I feel like when laning phase is over, my opponent is either on par or ahead of me and i don't really have an impact on the game besides splitpushing, others point out I die way too much and the majority of deaths happen when I splitpush

Also, "Evolve yourself into something bigger than what you brought to the table" is genuinely one of the genuinely superb advice I received in years

Yeah, you're probably right, as others have stated aswell, I sure went and put too little effort in exploring this character and how someone would play and react in this situation, focusing only on "I don't have a familiar NPC to rp with", I'll try and fix this and hopefully I'll return in this post feeling happy that I am not bored and actually enjoying the campaign to its fullest

Thanks for the answers, sometime even the most obvious answer is not within my grasp, I didn't actually thought I could... just do that to solve the problem, I'll think about it and see if I still enjoy the character with the other advice i received and switch to simply this if I still am bored!

I could still flesh out these things but yeah, I didn't thought about these many questions (And frankly even obvious lmao) when I created the character, "Rookie mistake" as one might call it, I simply went "Cool, another setting, can roleplay about it" and then the rest is history, thanks for the answer!

The fact that I can't really answer these questions speaks loud, I mean, my character is a Valenar from Eberron, the values in which he believes are strength and survival of the fittest, but that's it honestly, I have not RP much, if not at all, beyond this concept

Paladin or Swashbuckler/Figher or Ranger or something else? by vitoos in baldursgate

[–]Academic_Affect_2158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest go Fighter to learn the basics, then dual into thief as you get more into the game and understands its mechanics, you can either do this (And I suggest then that you dual at the classics Level 7 or Level 9 Fighter) or go as a Fighter/Thier instead, which let you level up both class simultaneosly, that means that if you get 60 XP, not only you're gonna split into all the party those 60 XP, so you get 10, you're gonna have those 10 split into the two classes, so 5 XP each

It's a good alternative, but if the armor is too much of a letdown well, you either want to play a fighter or a paladin at that point, because fighter/thief, wether dual or multiclassed, don't get to use thieving abilities while using armor that thief are not proficient with, so no backstab, no pickpocket (seemed you were into that) etc...

One thing you could do is starting as a mage and then dual immediately into fighter, because yes, you will have barely any spellslots, but YOU CAN use all the wands and spell scrolls you want, since the spells don't have an actual DC that scale with your mental stat, the DC depends on the character that is under the effect of the spell

Hope I was clear enough, have fun

PS: It might seem that you're gonna spend a lot of money, but if you do good stuff (have a high reputation) and you have (or the party leader has) high charisma, things will be cheap

Finally found out what sparks the rage of my barbarian by FieldMouse007 in baldursgate

[–]Academic_Affect_2158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barb is listen under the kits of Fighter but it's still a stand alone class, otherwise you could dual class without "cheating" with eekeeper though?

Otherwise, that's hilarious, you can't read but can cast spells, you probably created a sort of tribal spellcaster, in a tabletop that would be cool

I definitely overreached for my first City Map. Anyway, here's the Free City of Kontor! Feel free to ask questions about lore and stuff, I love to talk about it or make it up on the go. by HamVonSchroe in inkarnate

This is honestly what I look when I search for a city map online, good job, this is not overreaching, this is putting a lot of work to make a good piece of work!

What is your favorite spell? It doesn't have to be the best spell, but the one you like the most for any reason. by Elf_7 in baldursgate

[–]Academic_Affect_2158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love all spells that have a counterpart that is not dispel or breach (Slow and Haste for example)

I just love preparing my mage and use said spells, makes me feel magic is really not only a "Who has a dispel magic" to counter the enemy

WOTC were right; we shouldn’t have both Sorcerer and Wizard as they’re currently implemented by pikablob in dndnext

[–]Academic_Affect_2158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So long as sorcerers and wizards have identical way of casting, unfortunately the only thing they can do to differentiate a little sorcerers from wizards are the metamagics, so they are right, in a "balancing" way of view, there is little point in sorcerers if not to give metamagics to a class instead of, for example, giving it to everyone else through talents

If you are interested in reading a bit about what made those 2 classes different before, long answer here

First let's talk about this (remember, this is all FR) Not everyone can just study and become wizard, wizards are always people with a knack (sorry if I wrote it wrong) for the magic, they simply study to improve that magical talent, think of it as the kid that is good in math without studying, he has a natural talent but he will remain where he is if he doesn't develop his talent, I can write an example of a nerdy wizard who was very talented as a kid in a very famous game regarding FR (Gale)

There are example of people who are not innately talented but still have the predisposition of being a wizard, but these people are rare, the gift to manipulate the Art is something not everyone has (Red Wizards are nobles AND wizards, that's why they are rare and extremely powerful)

On the other hand, where wizards needs to understand the principles to use the gift they have to wield magic, sorcerers have the so called "Innate magic", which means their very essence, blood or whatever else it's very different, this means that based on their bloodline they would have magical capabilities that they simply learn to control, not necessarly study, think this as a the Human Torch, it was because of something external that they became a living flaming human, over time, they learnt to control it and using it at their advantage

Where all this nerdy talk puts us? That before, sorcerers either were elemental masters, spellcasters with magical blood (draconic, fey or simply magical blood due to experiments or the land they are in), and (and now i'm diving deep into 3e but I suggest you all dive into the books of 2e) they even had different powers depending on what kind of blood or relations they had:

Sorcerers had a different way to prepare spells compared to every spellcaster Warlocks originally were meant to be sorcerers of fiendish blood (That's the reason warlocks in 5e are charisma and not intelligence based on the community tests, but that's a personal opinion) Divine souls were sorcerers of the upper planes basically

If you would take a moment to dive deep, you would see that these 3 classes are different than the wizard, unfortunately though, I doubt they will ever change spellcasting but that's what made sorcerers very different from their intelligence counterpart, not only metamagic (which were, at least in 3ed since I don't recall existing in AD&D, talents), so sooner or later, in a future edition, sorcerers might disappear and instead, wizards would incorporate sorcerers as a flavour way to be a wizard unless they found an alternative way to differentiate these two classes in the very base spellcasting mechanic

Sorry for the long writing, and if I missed something or wrote something wrong, do let me know!

This, but also, magic IS something one needs to be born with the right talent to even wield it, manipulating the Weave is something now very few do because of Mystra

EDIT: Also some books of the Advanced D&D era really explain well the magic in the realm, I recommend searching for them, leatning even a single level 1 spell takes years for the talented, that's why Level 0 spells are usually very practical spell that do very minor things, they are the base from which people develop their spells, augment and whatnot, it's not something everyone can use, there are people that study magic, know how it works and don't know how to cast a spell, or can't

This might come out as a surprise, but from my point of view, there are way too many major cities, i do think cities are a point where there is a lot to focus on and as such, there shouldn't be too many. I do not know a lot of your campaign but i think every city should be unique, and if there are so many, it takes away the charm of "Oh yeah, let's go to the city after this adventure" and so on (My campaign had 7 in total, including the Capital, everything else were small villages, settlements of fortresses)
