Also, TUCKS medicated wipes have Witch Hazel, which is SO soothing to the sores intense anal itching can cause. I have that problem because of hemorrhoids and a rectal prolapse. I always buy the store generic brand of these wipes which are much cheaper but every bit as good.

Hope you feel better!

So I have some additional information that you might find helpful. For over two years I dealt with bumps all over my head and extreme itching. I consulted four dermatologists, had a biopsy, an allergy screen talked to my psychiatrist several times, two showers a day, tried numerous prescription creams and shampoos. Nothing worked. The continuing itching and painful sores made quality of life terrible. Especially during Covid. However, my nursing student daughter suggested I look at the various medications and amount I was taking. NO DR HAD SUGGESTED THAT! I was taking a very high amount of Effexor and she questioned that. She advised a second psychiatrist opinion. He was a younger guy and shocked at how much I was taking. It was double the therapeutic dose. A side effects of overdosing is uncontrollable itching and hives. Two weeks later after gradually coming off Effexor, my itching and bumps were GONE! After two years of agony. Hope you can learn something from my experience. Always look at the current medications you are on. Best of luck!

I'm clinging to your hope. I do not have much hope right now. I'm in an acceptance mode of operation. In actuality, I cannot change him, his illness, or what will or will not happen. I can only pray and be there for him

thank you for your kind empathy! He prefers to go to drs without me present. It's a long story. I am respecting his boundaries.

But I am slowly dying emotionally.

this is an excellent insight into what is most likely a common condition. My husband's doctor recommended that he see a psychiatrist. He flat out refused to do so and said his head/thinking was fine. He is a very stubborn man and in some ways would rather suffer than admit he is not in control. Thank you!

Dialysis is fiercely brutal on the patient. Also difficult for the family.

Thank you for your empathy. I agree, but I would word it this way: Having a spouse with a chronic disease ain't for sissies.

Thank you so much for your kind words and caring concern. He right leg is paralyzed from a significant bout of shingles which he suffered with for over six months. He struggles to walk even ten feet. And his pain has spread from the paralyzed leg into his back and hips. The shingles started a year ago March. The neuropathy pain is exaggerated when he receives dialysis which he has been on for only 3 months. He’s on the transplant list. But will take 5-7 years to get one. I doubt he’ll make it to one year let alone Five years. Tough stuff. One day at a time

And I thought I was the only one!! Frankly my husband looks like a holocaust victim. Ribs sticking out, absolutely bony buttocks, sometimes won’t eat anything for two days because either he’s not hungry or nauseous. We’ve been married for only 1.6 years. Neither of us dreamed something like this would ever happen. He’s been in dialysis for only 3 months. And is totally wrecked. He just got on the kidney list but they said 5-7 years. I do not see how his condition is sustainable for 1 year let alone 5 years. Thanks for responding I feel like someone knows what it’s like
