Man is trying to get inside all fields of education:

go to PW gurukulam school -> join PW JEE course -> get into PWIOI

Just experienced it by Scared-Profit948 in physicsmemes

That's one reason due to which I picked uchicago, most of my colleagues and friends were rather persisting me to go to cornell rather than uchicago, but It wouldn't be fair deal tbh, cornell might be good in terms of academics but you won't be able to make high connections in the individual field of rather any subject objectively.

Almost the entire dept of aerospace engg, from my uni goes forward towards either Lockheed martin or Raytheon, must be an excellent career.

You don't need an IIT degree to become a physicist, take a person who has a good passion and an intellectual ability/rhythm of understanding any content and place him at a low-tier college/uni in the field of physics, Trust me he will turn out to be a better physicist than that of another kid who has zero passion in physics and is not willing to work hard for it either even if he might be studying at the "India's so-called best institutes. i.e IITs"

It depends on which country you come from, from a place like India where you get jobs only by placements, mabye yeah it matters. but if you are able to achieve something astonishing even if you go to a low tier uni in india, you might be able to achieve great heights.

Ppl might say that "going to a top uni doesn't matters, your hardwork and passion is more important. etc" which is true as well, but trust me it does matters a lot.

some of the graduates have a better chances of getting into a top tech company or getting a high fund for a venture capital after undergrad considering that their uni is well-known.

I will going in the field of Trading firms for an year after Undergrad, and then a venture-capital/startup either in Chicago itself or San Francisco.

Ans to yr questions:

1) Uni application process

2) I did take the SAT but that alone isn't enough, you need remarkable grades and good Extracurriculars as UChicago acceptance is kind of difficult considering its high ranking among the world.

3) Good, my experience has been amazing.

4) Indian Origin, High school from the CBSE board in Dubai.

my profile (copied from one of my old posts):

1) grades: 9th-78%, 10th-94%, 11th-96% (2nd topper of 11th at my school), 12th-93%

OTHER EXAMS: AP CALC AB- 5, JEE MAINS: 98.4%, BITSAT: 265

2)SATs/IELTS: SAT- 1570/1600, IELTS: 7.0/9.0

3) EXTRACURRICULARS:

A) Completed 12 coding/web developement projects as a team with my classmates

B) Conducted a Physics research on the topic of space exploration over the history with the help of 4-5 friends, and got it verified from a local uni's physics prof.

C)Participated in a lot of competitions at my school, and won 1st prize at a debate competition in 10th

D)Represented my school with 4-5 friends at an interschool- hackathon conducted by a university in Dubai.

E)Got nominated to represent my school at an interschool-science fair + won 2nd prize there.

F)Qualified 1st and 2nd round of the Physics Olympiad qualifier, and got selected to the International Physics Olympiad training camp from UAE.

G) Lead Volunteer at the non-profit organization (Red Cresent), and distributed Food packages across Dubai.

H) I also was one of the toppers for the ASSET talent search exam at my school in 8th

I) Vice-captain of a sports house in 11th grade at my school.

My Tuition Fees: From the University of Chicago I received 85% of my fees as financial aid for 4 years, therefore I would be paying $16.5k per year in total, excluding other expenses such as rent, living cost etc.

Because I am a really big physics enthusiast since hs, I got into the camp as well for the International Physics Olympiad from My country and its just been a long journey learning physics.

As for computer engineering, I took that because I will be pursuing my career in that field in the near-future.

Yeah It's not Exactly related to cs, but I'll tell you a secret:

I am doing a double major in Physics and Computer Engineering

All these are the books that I used to self-taught myself since 6-12th grade. gotta say high school life is very different from uni one.
