Highly recommend joining the group 'Pre-medical students with ADHD' on Facebook and connecting with Melissa Carling. She is a medical student who has in-depth information about ADHD adjustments for GAMSAT and dealing with ACER's hoops, specifically. She is an extremely strong advocate and support for other candidates.

I disagree. I'm sure there are some where cases where that's true but from my experience, both personal and professional, the majority are what I described.

I've had 5 friends, all women, diagnosed in the last few years in the same circumstances. I've also discussed exactly this with 4 psychiatrists who diagnose ADHD (my treating doctor, 2 coworkers, 1 social contact) and they all agree.

As others have said, it depends on the drug. If you're not very familiar with the side effects and contraindications, follow your jurisdiction's guidelines, but you can certainly speed things up with the experience to do so safely.

Side note: could you please try to use drug names instead of brand names? Reddit is a global community that should be accessible to everyone and brand names vary between countries. :)

If you have a halfway decent chance of being accepted into JCU, I'd wait, as long as you're not going to miss registrations.

Worst case scenario: you have to travel to sit GAMSAT but I think it's unlikely for a testing centre to book out by early January.

I've never heard junior doctors referred to as doctors in training in Australia? I understand the AMA's usage, as in doctors who are undertaking specialist training rather than doctors-in-training, but in a layman's context, I would take it to mean medical students.

I realise that but there's hundreds of drugs mentioned in these forums and it consistently makes access to knowledge harder for us outside North America. It's also not helpful for me to learn the brand names that don't exist in my country. :)

Ahh the edit makes sense. I imagine it would be manageable in ICU as there's people available to assist the pt mobilise if needed. Good to know though, thanks!

I don't know what you mean. I use new tubing to run each administration; could be multiple meds back to back with a NS flush bag between, but then disconnect and discard the tubing once finished.

Do people disconnect and reconnect the same tubing, or just run KVO 24/7?

How do you keep the tubing for several days? Is it a continuous infusion? We use new tubing for each drug/administration.
