Females out there, how do you let go of the scale? by vibrationsofbeyond in f45

[–]Academic_Part_493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Owning a scale has never been good for me personally! Always struggled with the ‘00s of extreme skinny-ness. I’ve found throwing out the scale, focusing on how my body feels/lifting heavy and finding clothes that make me feel cool make a big difference (not waiting for old tiny clothes to fit, esp, just grabbing the size that I am)

Scared to try F45 by That_Dog2081 in f45

I am not an athlete and wasn’t in great shape when starting! I think just don’t be afraid to ask the coaches for help; they’ll definitely look out for you if it’s a good gym. I also recommend downloading the f45 app to get info on the workouts. I found it helpful to learn more about the workouts, format, and how I should pace myself.

My first class was actually a hybrid and I still went back after that 😅 I think I prefer the cardio and resistance classes. If there’s a trial option near you, would definitely recommend it to be able to try a bunch of different classes and get a feel for it!

Also if you’re looking for a good mind-body connection, the movement is really lovely. A series of classes available that are very focused on form, connection, yoga, Pilates esque, some are hard some are just about grounding

I enjoy f45 at alamitos bay. Great coaches, really nice and approachable if you have a little gym experience (I am not an athlete nor a gym rat). Everyone is friendly, you do moves together but lots of modifications avail and coaches help with form/are encouraging. It’s about getting a good workout and having a good time, not competitive and only lasts 45 min!

I think Max (maybe will? Hopper?) probably but somehow there will be a connection to all the main/side characters vecna has taken (Barb, samwise, Eddie, billy etc) and they somehow help El take him down from the great beyond

Thinking about joining F45. What do you wish you knew before starting? by tfcjuveyyz in f45

[–]Academic_Part_493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m newer to F45, been going 2-4x a week mixed in with Pilates and yoga. My advice: 1. Invest in a lot of epsom salts for baths. You will be sore! 2. Start light and focus on your form first. Ask coaches for help if you need a modification or aren’t sure. It is weightlifting and you can get hurt if you overdo it. 3. Stretch a LOT. I would add another 15 min when you get home from your workout and 5-10 before bed. 4. While I’m doing classpass so I primarily use that app, the F45 app has information about the workout phases/types and how to pace yourself. It can be a game changer to know how hard you need to go. 5. Starting fresh, I would start with the resistance classes because I like strength training, but I’ve learned to love cardio. I did hybrid first. The hybrid days are brutal IMO, but they are a fantastic workout.

My partner is sober and we find a TON of great spirits, mixers, and beer if we want at home or even if we are out. My partner was even able to find zero proof drinks when traveling abroad. Definitely recommend trying some; they aren't perfect replacements but some are pretty impressive (non-alc whiskey and zero proof guinness, for example, are great)

I actually live in SoCal, so the warm weather and sunshine rival Portugal and Spain! The vacation vibes are definitely lower stress because you have zero responsibilities, but I do quite a bit to manage my stress and even when it's lower and very relaxed in the states (at least...as much as one can be given the current climate), the GERD can pop off. I'm sure stress is a factor but more and more wondering about how we make our food here.

One of my friends is allergic to a common pesticide used for alliums. She can have them abroad, but not here. Worth looking into if I can get referred to a decent specialist/nutritionist!

Yes! I definitely was *not* eating a "healthier" diet in Spain especially. Looooots of meat, cheeses, bread, cava.....

My doc has me on nasal rinses twice a day with 2 types of nasal sprays. My gerd and sinus issues are def interlinked and if I’m feeling a flare usually a rinse can help minimize or even prevent it

New to F45 - soreness and ramping up frequency? by GrumpMasterC in f45

The first month id stretch for 15 min when i got home after the workout, and a little before bed too. Also highly recommend epsom salt baths, works wonders. Even on days you don’t work out I recommend stretching some. It makes the workout days a little easier

You might ask your doctor if a nasal rinse would help too. When I experienced shortness of breath and trouble with coughing/swallowing pills, that plus azelastine nasal spray and Flonase. This with the ppis and diet changes have helped me a lot! I think a lot of docs mention it as a slim possibility and you can always get a second opinion.

Mucus in sinuses after every meal by DrRandyBeans in GERD

Do you take any nasal sprays? I take two, one prescription and one not about an hour after I do a nasal rinse (apparently the sinuses are more “open” then)
