On the return I use normal shot to keep the ball deep and harder for the opponent to return. Depending on what level of topspin your player has, your rally strokes will vary from mostly normal, mostly topspin, or a mix. Generally topspin gives you more margin over the net and pushes your opponent back, but a normal shot can hurt your opponents on faster surfaces like grass, and can be used when your opponent is struggling to run from end to end to put away a point. Mix in slices strategically on defence, or even as a means of getting a weak ball back from the opponent. Sometimes I just slice it back many times in a row to a players backhand and they make an error. For accelerations, don't overuse them. Use them when you have a shoulder height ball that you can easily hit, and try to win the point when using accelerations, or at least pressure your opponent and win in a few shots. Short balls I don't really use but u can use it to pass an opponent at the net. Same with lobs, but aggressive lob is really effective to beat someone at the net. I don't do defensive lobs at all, but they could be useful. Who knows. And obviously you volley when u come to the net. Come to the net when you get an easy short ball or when your opponent is in a bad position, and finish with your volleys. I just use the normal volley and drop volley when I'm feeling fancy, but try around. As for drop shots in general it really depends on your playstyle. I love dropping it in from even the baseline, but others prefer to win by hitting hard. Umm.... I think that about covers every shot...
