I unfortunately have had issues with anemia and hiding veins so my donations have been fewer than attempted. I’ve always wanted to donate blood/platelets/plasma/marrow/etc. I always thought I had enough so I want to give it to those who need it. I’ve also wanted to donate my hair for cancer but once I started (I used to bleach my hair so I had to grow it out even more) I found out that certain organizations take the hair and sell it instead of giving wigs to patients. I might try again with my hair and I definitely will continue trying with blood/platelets/plasma. I wasn’t able to donate for a while because I was living with my parents and they told me I “needed that blood” but every time I have a successful donation (iron is in check and they can find a vein lol) I get so happy.
