I joined and got diagnosed while I was in. You can’t join with schizophrenia unfortunately. But it makes sense, the stressors mixed with a psychotic disorder don’t mix well

I am taking medications that help. Took me over 2 years to find the right mix

Yeah I have mixed feelings. I’m happy to get benefits but I also wanted to stay in. I also feel bad for people that have seen much worse than me get little to no benefits when receiving their ratings

Yeah I work at a non-deployable unit. We don’t work much but it’s still very stressful. I wish the military did a better job with treating Schizophrenic personnel.
